Wolfscratch Wilderness : A Backward Walk in Time in an Old North Georgia Settlement

Rate this book
"Wolfscratch Wilderness" gives an excellent history of the part of North Georgia which came to be "Big Canoe," a gated community. The book starts with the removal of the Cherokees to Oklahoma and examines the various families that owned tracts of land in the area, ending with the Tate family who ultimately owned most of the land. A very interesting book!

Like the sub-title says, this book written by my Aunt Charlene is a story of an old North Georgia settlement, but it is also a compelling read for those who don't know much about Appalachia and the lives of the people in the region.
