Marathon runner. Math enthusiast. Part-time painter . Full-time lover of snakes. None of these words describe me. But I do have a weakness for words, and a passion for pretend. So I create characters who become anyone I want them to be then I give them stories that will never be mine. I am the author of the Eliza and Mill young-adult romance series, Love and Other Puzzles and the sequel, Love and Other Answers. Wife. Mom. Avid reader. Sucker for real life happy endings, and slightly obsessed with word games. That’s the me behind the words.
Short review. Romantic, witty and the rise of a superhero. Likable characters from the main characters Colin and Lucy to the side characters, it has a interesting origin superhero story told from the girlfriend's point of view. It really feels like Lucy is sitting right in front of you telling you her story about falling in love with a superhero. I would love a sequel that's five years or more after this one told from both Colin and Lucy's point of view.
what a pleasant surprise! I started this book and I didn't want to put it down. it was so satisfying to read- It kept my interest because the plot moved so fast. I felt connected to the characters, especially the protagonist, Lucy, because of P.L Baldwin's skillful use of stream of consciousness narration. I found it easy to put myself in Lucy's shoes, which helped me to connect with the reading. All of this combined kept those pages turning! Fabulous debut from this new Ohio author!
Yes, this is a wonderfully written book! I liked the characters, every single one... The plot moved fast, and told from the heroine´s POV in stream-of-consciousness narration, this made up for a very enjoyable read. But after finishing it, I could not exactly understand what the purpose of the book was! The romance in here was lukewarm at best...with or without the hero´s superpowers.
I am probably too old to appreciate a cute read...
I really like this book. I think the voice of the narrator and main character (Lucy) is very likeable and draws you in. Reading this book feels like talking to a friend as she tells you the story of what happened when she met her boyfriend who just happens to be a superhero.
