I won Girl Act as a Goodreads First Read. I started to read it back in February, but one thing and another kept me from getting any further than putting it on my nightstand. It took the flu putting me flat on my back to have time to read it cover to cover and I find it ironic to say, I'm glad it did! What a good story! While some of the language kept me from rating it 5 stars, I thoroughly enjoyed Kristina's storytelling through Vivien's life, and especially through her relating things to old movies. It reminds you that there really are happy endings and things do work out in the end if you keep believing.
I won Girl Act in a Goodreads First Read giveaway. The book didn't grab me in the beginning with Vivien pontificating about actors and her sex life. The characters really didn't grab my attention until Vivien moved "home" to the east coast. The characters on the east coast were interesting and I could have read an entire book based just on her east coast life and friends. I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more books by this author.
I won this book from a Goodreads giveaway and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Kristina Shook wrote a fantastic book that gives insight to the life of socialista, Vivien. I found her confessions and exploits to be highly entertaining. The sexual content might put off some of the more modest readers, but overall I loved this book!
The main theme of this book starts with page one and continues all the way throughout. It is about the life of Vivien who is trying to make her way into the world of acting. Her many adventures are livid and most of the time sexual in nature. She makes her decisions based on her feelings no matter how they affect everyone else and she stays true to herself.
