An alright book. His concept of vacancy chains overall is a useful and somewhat unique heuristic to pick up for thinking about job mobility and openings. If you're not interested in doing mathematical modeling of m0bility yourself, you can stick to reading only Chapters 1, 3, 8, 9, and 13 for conceptual and comparative understanding and skim chapters 4-6 for the findings produced from his model. Writing isn't the greatest but it's not difficult to read.
