This is the fifth book in the Mystic series. These new adult paranormal novellas deal with social stigmas, judgment, and hate.
Coralie Meyers is struggling to find her footing as an actress in New York. A malicious attempt to thwart another girl's career ends in catastrophe and Coralie soon finds herself in a precarious situation.
As the sixth and final member of Women Save the World, a company created by Markaza Turner, Coralie possesses all the cunning the young ladies will need to defeat the evil that's rising under Central Park. If the women fail to save her, evil will rise and destroy the world.
Now that Markaza has gathered four of her chicks: Bronya, Lily, Shelia, and Melody, all that's left to do is bring in Coralie, train her, and go to war. But the ladies are struggling with their powers and their personal demons. Will they find the power within themselves in time to destroy the monster and save the world? Only time will tell; and that's one thing they're short on.
This fifth installment of the Mystic series is a lesson in what lies, hate, and judgment can do to the world when left unchecked.
Jo Michaels loves writing novels that make readers gasp in horror, surprise, and disbelief. While her browser search history has probably landed her on a list somewhere, she still dives into every plot with gusto, hoping "the man" will realize she's a writer and not a psychopath about to go on a rampage. Her favorite pastimes are reading, watching Investigation Discovery, and helping other authors realize their true potential through mentoring. She's penned the award-winning Pen Pals and Serial Killers series and the best-selling educational book for children, Writing Prompts for Kids, which has rocketed the kids that use it into several awards of their own.
Most of Jo's books feature the places she's lived: Louisiana, Tennessee, and Georgia. That's given her a special amount of insight to what makes those locations tick. Her works are immersive and twisty, and she wouldn't want it any other way.
Coralie is the fifth novella in the Mystic series. Just as the other novellas in this series, Jo Michaels sheds light on another controversial topic. Coralie has to make a difficult decision that is traumatic enough without having to face a mob of angry and cruel people yelling lewd comments, throwing things and even chasing her down the road. If this wasn't horrible enough, she is snatched and violated in the worst possible way. Markaza has her work cut out for her trying to save Coralie and bring her into the fold with the other women of the WSTW.
This novella is just as powerful as the other four, but it also shows how the other four girls have grown close and have developed a bond that pulls at your heart strings. I love this series and I am starting Markaza the sixth and final book in the series immediately. I highly recommend this series because it is simply put, AMAZING!
Markaza Turner is gathering special women to defeat an evil she has foreseen. These ladies of Women Save the World are all an integral part of her plans. The newest find is Coralie Meyers. But when the other girls find her, while Markaza is on another recruiting expedition, she is in bad shape. They aren't even sure she'll make it, and they can't move forward without her.
Coralie Meyers was on top of the world--living the dreams that most actresses only wish for. She was on the cusp of making it big, but a few poor choices left her with fewer options. Sometimes death seems like an easier option than dealing with the pain and ramifications from one horrifying and devastating decision. Can the other girls convince Coralie to fight her own demons so they can fight the biggest demon of all?
Jo Michaels has a gift. She needs very few words to convey a lot of pain and allow the reader to glimpse the heart and soul of the characters. Coralie faces a decision none of us would envy, and it's clear that she is struggling. Then, there's the aftermath. What happens to her is horrible, but she starts to believe she deserves it which is even more heartbreaking. She's broken, an open wound begging for healing. Her pain, through intense and beautifully-written story, is palpable. One scene, in particular, left me with tears flowing down my face.
If you love female characters with some grit, who are broken but fighting, you will love the Mystic series. In Mystic ~ Coralie, your heart will break. But there's hope in the power of women unified. Women bound by pain and fortitude.

Coralie is the fifth novella in the Mystic Series by Jo Michaels. This book is EXCELLENT! I could NOT put it down, I literally absorbed every page, grabbed the next book in the series and completed all 5 of them in one day, needless to say I did not get any sleep. But when I was finished I nearly cried because I would have to wait for book 6 to be released with Markaza's story. eeek I do not do well having to wait!
In Coralie we deal with a VERY touchy subject. Coralie was an actress living the good life. She had the lead roll in a Broadway production, and a contract for a movie deal. Then it all falls apart. She is faced with a horrendous choice, and she chooses the one which makes the most sense for her, as she is walking out of the clinic, a group of people protesting abortions follow her and start calling her names, what happens next is the stuff of nightmares and makes me think how little some of those pro-life people actually feel about life. She gets away from them, but the damage to her is immense, and beyond compare. They left her bloodied, at deaths door, and destroyed her on so many levels. But Markaza foresaw the attack, and did her best...
I won't tell you any more for fear I will spoil the book for you. But trust me when I say you will eat these books up. The characters and their troubles are extremely realistic, and I could relate to quite a few of the issues these women all face.
So what are you waiting for? Go grab yourself a copy!
I must say one thing here... If you have NOT read the prior books please start at one, it is well worth it to do so and the story flows nicely when you read them in order.
Coralie's story breaks my heart. Nobodies story is perfect and they all have issues but dayum, poor girl. I imagine it wasn't easy to write. The decision that Coralie makes is one of the hardest designs a woman could make and nobody should judge or throw the first stone. This novella affected me to the point of tears. Excellent writing Jo, as usual, wouldn't expect anything else from you. Looking forward to finishing the series tomorrow ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
