This book is for girls. This book is for women. This is a book to empower females from teenagers through adults. Take this book and use it. The contents were made to keep us going through the tough times. Females, we undervalue ourselves. Easily. And we too easily believe how little we are worth. This is not a book that has anything against men. But they can write their own book. And don’t forget, we need to UN-bifurcate and take care of ourselves just as humans too. But this is a book for females. I wanted especially to use pictures in a prominent way to tell some of our stories. Find ways to tell your own. Find the things that matter in life. Don’t let anyone make you loosen your grip. Ever. You are all you have. Take good care of yourself.

This unusual combination of photographs and poems on the theme of women’s empowerment reinforces its message as it develops. The illustrations are striking, spinning off into poems with uplifting insights. Like all good poetry, it merits repeated readings.
If I have a criticism, it would be that sometimes a poem sets up a striking metaphor, then veers into apparently unrelated imagery, thus muting the impact. However, the writing is so often brilliant, one can only encourage the poet to continue refining her craft. She has already reached the level of art, both literally and figuratively.

My Review~ I don't read alot of poetry but this poetry book is amazing. It is full of empowerment that women need to hear especially in the type of the economy that we live in where women have to look like cover models to be accepted. I simply adore the cover and its uniqueness and all the other pictures are breath taking. Love it!!
Amazon Book Description~ This is a powerful book for females that relies on graphics with words to tell important stories succinctly and give vital support and empowerment to females from ages 10 to 100.
A nice collection of poetry with photos to match; it is a book to keep us going through tough time. It is a book by a woman for women regardless of age. The book deals with the tendency women have to undervalue themselves and turns this into strength. There is a thread of personal development running through the book, which makes the reader follow.
There are especially the poem Regeneration with the accompanying photo; it sticks with me; which is also the case for a quote: “When you grow tired of life and everything seems dull, look in the eyes of someone who is alive.”
My review: This book was very different from what I usually read. I love the entire concept of it, female empowerment. It is a combination of photos and poetry, all of which inspire and foster hope and encouragement.
My favorite in the book is Now, a piece of bad ass poetry that fits me perfectly! The previous poem, It Happens, is one that could speak to so many of us. These are just a couple of the poems that spoke to me throughout this interesting collection. It is a fantastic work that I find very empowering.
My recommendation: A definite must read for female empowerment.
Absolutely loved it! I AM is a powerful, inspiring piece of art; poetry that touches the heart and pierces the mind. I'm encouraging young women and girls in particularly to read it and feel the strength that is leaping off the page. It's beautifully presented with photos that emphasize her words. I read it in one session and now look forward to going over it again, piece by piece, relishing each topic that is covered.
