I found this to be a very good first person account of being a runaway prisoner during the civil war. For me it was even more interesting in that I now live in J. V. Hadley's hometown. If your a civil war historian or just interested in civil, war stories I would highly recommend this book.

Great story about the other side of war, being a POW. Their escape and trek back to the north is provided a gripping account of the the Civil War.
