Librarian's note: This is an alternative cover edition for ASIN B00EHGQB4M.

In the finale of the Golden Rule Outfitters series, small town business mogul Tommy Golden faces the biggest fight of his life. A corporate giant is threatening to commercialize the area’s quiet ski lift and change the fabric of the valley he calls home. When he discovers the woman sent to plead Holcomb Industries case is the woman who ripped his heart out a decade before, his passion to fight the development becomes a personal quest for revenge.

Gretchen Lowry knows her first and only love Tommy Golden lives in the valley where she’s been sent to negotiate with a group fighting her employer, but she doesn’t know he’s in charge of the resistance. If there’s one thing Gretchen understands it’s that she can’t change the past, but dealing with Tommy in the present is anything but pleasant. He’s still furious at her for walking out on him, but she can’t explain her reasons for leaving now any more than she could years before. The best thing she can do—the safest thing—is to broker a deal and get out of town fast.

But fate has other plans. When Tommy and Gretchen are stranded on a snowy mountaintop, the last thing on their minds is a deal. The gloves come off and the rules get tossed out the window. Because in the game of love, there are no rules.

What a wonderful way to complete a series. I have absolutely enjoyed this entire series, as well as all the stories that I have read from this author. Okay first, Tommy is the biggest sweetheart of them all; as we have seen in previous stories, Tommy did not believe in relationships/love and distanced himself from anything that remotely resembled it. Now we know why, he was hurt deeply by the one woman that he had ever loved. So what do you do when hurt by love, the one thing you can control, throwing yourself into your work, which is what Tommy has done. He is now very successful with several businesses in a small quaint town in Colorado. It has been no secret that a big Chicago developer wanted to commercialize the small Colorado town, and Tommy along with all the other locals have been against it. The developer send a rep to negotiate with the locals to get their support and buy in to the project. Tommy is the head of the locals group voicing their opposition, but he is willing to meet with the "guy" sent by the suits to hear what they have to say.

Enter Gretchen, the "guy" sent by the suits to broker the deal; problem is, Gretchen is the one who broke Tommy's heart, and when she enters the room looking as beautiful as ever, well things get interesting. Gretchen has her reasons for walking away from Tommy, and you have to admire her for her strength, courage and sheer survival for the 10 years that she and Tommy have been apart. I loved the plot twist and insight that we get on their history, and it truly touched my heart and made me love this couple even more.

I also loved that we got to visit much loved couples from previous stories: Dodge and Sarah, Kevin and Shiloh, and Lyle and Erica and even a little glimpse of Olivia and Jack and even Jill and Tyler. With all this reminiscing of some of my favorite couples, I am a little sad that this series has come to an end, as it has been such a emotional, sweet journey to witness. Maybe the author will consider bringing us a sweet little novella catching us up on all the couples a little bit down the road to see how everyone fared; I'm thinking her fans would love it. Thanks Christy.

I wish this series wouldn't end :(

I liked reading Tommy's story. It's about time this busy bodied grouchy man fall in love and be happy. Even though the story line moved quick I liked it a lot. I wish that we can keep looking into the characters of this series. I'll miss them all so much :)
