I found this book really easy to read. A true story about a woman who finds herself in an intense new relationship with the perfect man who seems ‘too good to be true.’ This was a look at domestic violence and controlling relationships from the victim’s perspective and, in this case, the victim being a strong, independent woman with her own business who never would have dreamed she’d find herself in this position. I found it demonstrated the powerlessness of allowing someone into your life and then not feeling able to put them out again once they had their feet under the proverbial table. It was interesting to look, in hindsight, at the red flags that could be explained away initially but were perhaps offering an insidious insight into the true character behind the veneer.
