I have over 140 name books so I feel like I have a good ability to compare them. This book, I would consider and average option in general. The accuracy of meanings leave something to be desired (I analyzed them and arrived at a 78% accuracy. It does have a variety of other sources of background info aside from meaning and it definitely has a great selection of underused and little-known names for someone looking for a name that should set their child apart from the masses. I've seen other name books with similar intentions fall flat because they list names that stray into the unusably unusual but this strikes the right note of uncommon but totally usable. No one wants to saddle their child with a name that's going to cause them trouble in life so that's imporant to consider. So if you want a name book that is extremely accurate or has more common or traditional names, this is not for you. But if you want a name book that is passably accurate and has a hearty assortment of unusual names, look no further.
