Did You Know? What an incredible design these animals have! The Master Creator made such wonderful and beautiful animals for our enjoyment! Children and adults both will delight in this illustrated guide to fish and sea creatures. Filled with spectacular photographs - it is great for any home or school library. And God created every winged fowl after his and God saw that it was good (Genesis 1:21).
Have you ever wanted to take your kids to Sea World? This book is a close second! In Marvels of Creation, Buddy and Kay Davis explore a wide variety of marine animals. This book has over 30 bright bold pictures of sea life. They both do a wonderful job of bringing Genesis 1:20 (day 5 of creation) to life with their thorough research. I deeply appreciate the fact Buddy and Kay point to our Master and Maker's ingenuity in creating all creatures great and small.
From the complex jellyfish with its stinging tentacles reaching up to two hundred feet long, to the winning picture of the sea otter farther on in the book, they cover a lot of ground. They list a variety of information regarding how each animal is born, where it lives, its lifespan, length, weight, special design features, etc. Each page explains a different animal and with about a half page of information regarding that animal, it keeps it fast paced and engaging. They also include a chapter at the end discussing the gills, shape, color, hearing, sight, etc. of fish.
I think this book could easily be used as a supplement to any young child's science program (ages 7-12) and would especially benefit those who are going through a marine science text or chapter. There is a glossary explaining terms like anal fin, estuary, and crustaceans, making it a convenient reference for kids. If you want to have a great time with your children but teach them as well, this is a certainly interesting and educational way to do so. You can be sure they will always be waiting for you to turn the next page!
