Newly promoted police detective John Roman is finding out the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Having to contend with a hard ass boss riding him non-stop who seemingly wants him to fail, Roman strives to prove himself in any way he can. He finally gets his opportunity to shine when a strange series of murders start occurring in his precinct. Roman forms an unlikely alliance with a timid coroner technician and an enigmatic group of soldiers from another world. Suddenly, Roman finds himself fighting in a war spanning galaxies, and taking him on the adventure of a lifetime, leaving him to realize Earth isn't the only planet out there. Dawn of the Mad is a story of two very similar worlds eons apart set upon a collision course with each other, sending Detective Roman on a quest to find out who he really is, and seeing how far he will search to find the answers he so desperately wants.

This was not what I expected.

I found it to be a mixture of Star Trek and Zombies.

The story was slow at the start, but was worth persevering with.

The characters were well developed and the story line, once you got through the first few chapters moved at a cracking pace.

Overall an enjoyable read.

I had a little trouble getting started but once I got into the book I enjoyed it. A book of 3 parts, almost 3 different stories, I suggest don't read the back cover bumpf first, ti will only confuse the beginning. Lots of action, sometimes the characters are a little shallow, nice twists, read it :D
