Sampson Hart has known Mary Jane Poppy for ten years. She’s his sister’s best friend, business partner, and has had a crush on Sam for years. When the mating pull hits him, he’s ready to claim her as his own. Given their history, it should be simple. Right?
MJ has loved Sam since she was fifteen. But being a hybrid, she’s been told all her life she won’t have a mate. When Sam proclaims she belongs to him, she doesn’t believe it; the mating pull isn’t there, and Sam isn’t meant to be hers.
Running back home to escape the love she feels for Sam, MJ agrees to become the companion of a man who lost his mate and has three young children to raise. It is the only way to set Sam free to find the one he is truly meant to be with.
Will Sam be Claiming More or will the one he desires the most find comfort in the arms of another?

This book made me want to scream! I was so involved with these characters that at one point I was crying so hard I couldn't read the page. Other times had me laughing so hard I spit my tea. And then there were the love scenes that had me turning up the air conditioner. This second book in the Tiger Nip series was even better than the first and although it can be read stand-alone I recommend reading Craving More (Tiger Nip #1) first as it will help you understand the world and the relationships between the characters better and because it is a great story. I received a copy of this book from the author (thanks Brandy) in return for a fair and honest review. I honestly LOVE this story. Please keep them coming.
I give this book and A rating. The story was great, the characters were true to form.I will probably read this book a couple of more times. The girl in the story MJ is a person we can all relate to.I did at one point in the book want to reach in the book and smack her when she sent Sam away.Devon was never a good choice for her.But alls well that ends well, and it did end...well read the book to find out.
Claiming More is such an emotional read. We’ve met Sam and MJ in the first story in the Tiger Nips series, Craving More. They have knows each other since childhood and perhaps MJ has loved Sam just about that long. But over the years they’ve fallen into constant digging bantering arguments whenever they’re around each other. Sam loves to tease and get a rise outta her, and MJ just has to fight the attraction by fighting Sam – on just about everything. But things are changing and Sam has acknowledged, at least to himself, that MJ is his mate – now he just has to figure out how to convince her of that fact before she goes and does something totally stupid – like accepting the companionship of a widower with children instead of Sam.
For the majority of her life MJ has never been good enough just as herself. As a hybrid, her Liger has been the source of family embarrassment and worse over the years. Now she hardly ever lets her cat out and that is hurting them both. Her parents have convinced her that she’ll never have children of her own nor a mate who loves her. All she can hope for is second best companionship from a man who lost his mate but wants a companion as well as a mother figure for his children. She loves Sam with all her heart, but she knows that when he finds his mate she will be devastated at the loss of what might have been – so she’s seriously considering Devon’s proposal.
My heart wept for MJ. She believed the lies and accusations that had been tossed at her, and finally just wanted to give in and follow her parent’s wishes – maybe then they’d love her for who she is, a dutiful daughter. Watching Sam change over the story was a delightful experience. He goes from blustering “I know I’m right” aggressiveness to finally an understanding of what MJ’s been going through – and he finds a way to help her, out of love, with no strings attached.
MJ had been conditioned by actions, words and lack of true knowledge to believe the lies and half-truths she’d been told throughout her life. The way in which MJ learns the truth about being a Liger was stunningly perfect for her. She would never have accepted anyone else’s information as possible truth – so this tension filled delivery was such an eye opener for MJ and the reader as well. The transformation was emotionally heart-wrenching – and I admit to some tears flowing during this amazing love story.
If you love Shifter Romance with a lot of emotional punch and a really compelling story then Claiming More should be on your reading list. This is a story that I would read again, just to get the little bits that I might have missed the first time in my rush to know what happens. It’s that good.
This is the second book in "Tiger Nip Series" by Brandy Walker and I loved it!! I loved that it was longer that the first issue "Craving More." I also liked that the author ensured that there were occasional brief mentions of what occurred in the 1st issue, by reminding the reader of what had happened previously.
We met our Hero, Sam, and our Heroine MJ in the previous book and now the author has pulled us in with their story, and pull me in she did!! "Claiming More" grabbed me right from the beginning. Our poor heroine was continually fighting her inner demons and insecurities and driving our handsome, sexy Hero to distraction. MJ was constantly being torn in two directions... should she accept Devon's or Sam's proposal?? Which man should she accept and which would be the best decision for her to make??
The story brought me to tears at times, and at others, made me want to scream out loud at the Heroine. The love scenes were hot and steamy and had me fanning myself.
There were a couple of minor spelling errors here and there, but in now way did they distract me enough to not want to continue reading this amazing love story.
I recommend this series and I look forward to more in the "Tiger Nip" series by Ms. Walker.
**A copy of this book was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.**
Oops another of those books that once I had started I couldn't be prized away from my Kindle until I hit "The End"!
I loved Craving More when I read it even though Shifter Romance was, then at least, a fairly new genre for me to read. Claming More was as good, if not better, and was certainly longer which was nice.
Following on from Craving More (but still suitable to be read as a standalone story) it follows the story of MJ and Sam. MJ has suffered prejudice for most of her life because she is a Ligor and therefore has suppressed her inner cat to such an extent that she barely knows it now. Sam is full breed Tiger and wants to claim MJ as his mate but MJ cannot accept that his feelings for her are real and feels it would be better to accept a loveless match her parents are pushing her towards.
The path to true happiness can be long and tortuous but it can also involve a heck of a lot of hot s*x!
A great book that I would really recommend and with the introduction of some new characters, hopefully the promise of more to come in the series.
I have enjoyed Brandy's Tiger Nip series. Sam and MJ's story was great and now I'm ready to see what is in store for the rest of the crew. Sam is a tiger shifter that has found his mate and MJ is a hybrid that is uncertain. It was heart wrenching at times but I love a HEA. And Brandy did not fail.
I beginning was nice and strong and the feelings were running high. But as the story went on it kinda stayed flat and there wasn't much of a climax. The different characters POV was fantasic though I can't wait to see who is next in the series!!!!
these poor 'heroines'. they never get to have any sense; or actually DO anything, except fucking shit up and acting stupidly. if all females thought like these authors have portrayed us, then we deserve sexism. to make it worse, it's like some of these authors have never taken english classes.
great addition to series.Mixed breed who doesn't feel any of the mating pull she should, tiger shifter who knows she is his mate but can't get her to accept they are true mates. look forward to more in this series.
