" 'LISTEN MORE SELL MORE' should be required reading for all salespeople. Its emphasis on APPLICATION and ACTION makes this a must-read for anyone seriously interested in knowing how to sell effectively in any situation or sales scenario, in-person or by telephone or webinar. This book takes the fear out of selling!" -- Sherry Goodman, art sales consultant. International sales consultants agree this is the book they want their clients to read, as well as the course they should do: "If you really want to know what makes certain salespeople very successful and others not, then you better read and do the practical drills in Ronald Joseph Kule's new sales book." (Marten Runow, Chairman, Performia International) Arte Maren, internationally acclaimed and sought-after corporate sales consultant, and author of "The Natural Laws of Management: The Admin Scale" wrote, "There are 'sales gems' throughout the book which, as a whole, is a 'must have' for every salesperson's sales kit." In the author's words, "The point of this book is to simplify the subject of sales and then DRILL, DRILL, DRILL to perfection! But, that doesn't mean we can't have FUN doing it." The author knows of what he speaks, having sold products and services in-home, door-to-door, B2B at executive levels, and B2C. He has sold in-person by cold-calling and on appointment; in front of groups, and through online webinars. He has also conducted seminars in several countries and performed multi-media webinars to prospective clients across North America. LISTEN MORE SELL MORE is the first of a series of three books coming from Ronald Joseph Kule... arguably the only series of books that include three separate levels of step-by-step training courses within their pages! -- Editor
“Listen More Sell More” breaks down the selling process in a step-by-step guide that is both concise and useful for beginners in the sales field. I’m not a beginner but I did find elements of this book that were helpful. For instance, I found the section about closing particularly valuable and the closing question was definitely my “Ah-Hah” moment. I won’t give away the “Million Dollar Definition” but let’s just say that that part alone made this book worthwhile.
The portions of this book that I didn’t like were all the word definitions. I’m not interested in reading a dictionary. Another miss, in my opinion, was in the drills section. It would’ve been nice if the author offered more tips on how to succeed with each step i.e. getting someone’s attention despite distractions or resistance. And when asked to buy it would’ve been nice if the author offered a few suggested lines.
I loved the anecdotes that there were (about 3) and would’ve liked a whole lot more. As well as some analysis as to why the author was successful or unsuccessful in that particular situation and how he could have improved. I mean the author sold millions of dollars worth of products during the course of his career, some more examples of his successes and failures would’ve been helpful and appreciated.
So the reason I rounded up instead of down in the star rating? This book did have enough good points that I felt that 2 stars would’ve been too low. I don’t think it’s the best reading for a more seasoned professional but I do think it would make a good supplemental reading for a business class and the drills would be good for sales training sessions.
Some weeks ago I had read «Listen More Sell More» by Ron Kule. There are many books on sales. Most of them are motivating and inspiring, creating a desire to sell. But this is a special book. Of course, there are also many exciting stories here. But most importantly, it is a practical guide with detailed exercises that helps you improve own sales skills. With these exercises, you can step by step become familiar with all the key steps of the sales cycle. These workouts allow sellers to cope with all the difficulties and successfully close the deal. Excellent aid for training salespeople.
“Listen More Sell More grabs the reader by the lapels and insists on being put into action. The unique format makes Kule’s book simple, direct, easily absorbed, and applied. Readers will actually sell better, sell easier and, perhaps like the author himself, come to sell artfully.” — Karen Nelson Bell, best-selling author, Nothing Down for Women. *** “Ron Kule has written, rather sculpted, a book on a subject— sales—often considered to require great effort. Listen More Sell More not only provides the FUNdamentals (note the first three letters) of sales, but presents them in an easy to understand, easy to apply and, I should add, artful format. There are ‘sales gems’ throughout the book which, as a whole, is a ‘must have’ for every salesperson’s sales kit.” — Arte Maren, internationally known, sought-after trainer for corporate and private companies and the author of The Natural Laws of Management: The Admin Scale *** “Listen More Sell More is a very good book for people who are looking to develop their skills in salesmanship.” — Patrick Valtin, President/CEO, New Era Management International *** “The difference between the data in this book and other sales books is its simplicity and applicability. Kule’s book removes the ‘effort’ and that little sensation of panic you can get in sales, where you feel you have to say all the right things to close the person standing in front of you and make sure they buy now!” — Kathy Sweigart, Personal Consultant
