Uno de los textos clásicos del mercantilismo, aunque no tenga gran valor para el debate económico en nuestros días, es una gran lectura para entender los orígenes de las posiciones sobre el comercio en Inglaterra durante el siglo XVII y que eventualmente se transformarían en la posición pro libre comercio de Inglaterra en el siglo XVIII y XIX.

El libro sigue una estructura muy parecida a la de la riqueza de las naciones y en gran medida muestra como el trabajo de Smith tenia en mente una critica directa al trabajo de Mun. Es una lectura muy corta pero entretenida y en alguna medida sirve para contratar con las criticas que existen hoy en día a las posiciones "neo-mercantilistas" de países como China.

Es una lectura interesante para ver de donde venimos frente al debate sobre la globalización en que nos encontramos.
