Just in Time #3

Wizard of Menlo Park, New Jersey

Rate this book
During the coldest winter ever, George and Gracie land in Menlo Park, New Jersey, 1879—near Thomas Edison’s famous laboratory. Mr. Edison has just invented a long-burning light bulb, but he’s keeping a huge secret: he’s also discovered time travel. In fact, he built his own time machine. The kids get an even bigger surprise when a young Mr. Crowe walks into Edison’s laboratory—as his assistant! The older and dangerous Mr. Crowe is sneaking around Menlo Park, too, with plans to destroy the time machine. If he does, George and Gracie will be stuck in 1879 . . . forever. The twins need Mr. Edison’s help. But can they stop Crowe in time?

Read as part of our state studies of New Jersey. So Gracie and George return to the past to return a book (Little Women) to the great inventor, Thomas Edison. Fun and interesting facts presented about Thomas Edison and all he accomplished and about his invention studio in NJ. My daughter and I are thoroughly enjoying this adventure that takes the kids back to the past to return an item that their parents brought to their museum. Their parents, who are stuck in the past somewhere, until the kids return all the items that they brought to the present from the past. Loads of facts about each state too at the end of the book and history facts sprinkled throughout each book.
