Thought it had some great recipes I haven’t seen elsewhere but felt it could be more supportive on stuff like E.g. “boiled potatoes” where it just lists them as ingredients but I couldn’t find how/where in the index, and as such had to refer to another book. Defeats the point maybe. Maybe I missed it. Anyway there are years of meals in here.
Everyone should have a copy of this book when they embark on English cooking. It really one of those books you will refer to again and again. Makes learning to cook a piece of cake. Forgive the pun. I love the simple setout and the way the book flows. Still on myself.
