Rate this book
Killing husbands is a hobby for best friends Jill O'Connor and Elle Cooper. Everything changes when Jill marries Marcus Reed, husband number four. Eight years after they first met and three months into the marriage, Jill begins to wonder if maybe he’s the one man worth sparing.

While pondering this dilemma, she and Elle discover they aren't as clever as they think. Marcus knows about their past, always has. If that isn't bad enough, he's in league with Elle's new boyfriend, Rhys Xavier.

A dark comedy of errors, Love You to Death follows Jill and Elle as they search for true love and kill anything that gets in their way.

Jill and Elle are two longtime best friends who share everything, especially homicide. To be precise, they have a habit of becoming widows, happily so, premeditatively so.

These ladies give the song "50 ways to leave your lover" a whole new dimension. Actually, I guess its more of a twist ... a twist of rope, or just the right wires, or a knife. Whatever it takes to off a husband before the ink is dry on the marriage certificate. So what in the world could ever throw a wrench in the terminal plans for the husband du jour? Why falling in love with him, of course.

That is exactly what happens when Jill begins to have second thoughts about offing her husband Marcus. Considering her attempts to don a black mourning veil for him have already failed, it is rather uplifting for her to decide that he might be worth keeping around a bit longer. Mind you, Elle is all about doing away with him so that her exclusive relationship with Jill isn't plagued by a third wheel anymore, but she doesn't seem to be able to steer Jill into the correct plan and motivation.

All the while, Marcus isn't as oblivious to the ladies' shenanigans as they think. His methods for distracting Jill from her mariticidal tendencies are amusing and effective. Why not distract your wife from helping you to eternal rest by hauling her out of the most exclusive restaurant in town by tossing her over your shoulder like a potato sack? Or challenging her to model for you in the headlights of your vehicle at the local drive in?

A few notes ... this book was recommended by another author whom I admire and respect immensely. She obviously knows me too well.
The desk ... Oh my dear lord the desk ... but no, that wasn't where it stareted. The coffee shop ... the control, the quiet amused authority ... oh my stars and garters!
Then the desk ... the tone ... I had to stop, and take a walk through the house to compose myself so I could finish ... yeah, a man who is strong enough to know what he wants, even with her faults, and then take her, keep her, cherish her, smack her ass when she needs it, or even when he just wants to? Yeah, that just trips my trigger. Marcus is a bad ass all wrapped up in sheep's clothing. He is Clark Kent and Superman ;)

Jill and Elle have been best friends ever since the time Elle killed her alcoholic husband in the back alley of a bar in New York. As time went by, they met handsome men, were married, discovered that the men had some sort of personality defect, and then they killed them. Elle kept a notebook with extensive notes on her husbands, keeping up with dates and places, and of course, a copy of the obituary. Jill’s notebook was not as complete, but her notes were also clear and concise.

The women were working on a new plan to kill Jill’s husband, Marcus, but they could not agree on the proper procedure. Adding to the complication was the fact that Jill was falling more deeply in love with Marcus, and she really did not want to kill him. Elle berated her for being weak, but once she had Rhys to concentrate on, she changed her tune just a bit. Marcus worried the women when he decided to write a book on female serial killers who had gotten away with it, making them feel that they would soon be caught.

Jill and Elle are great characters, strong women who took care of their marital problems in a decidedly unconventional way. I was pleased that Marcus and Rhys figured them out and loved them anyway. Love You to Death was a fun book to read; it held my attention and made me laugh out loud.

In true Thelma and Louise style, Elle & Jill they came, they went and they conquered more than 3 times.

They learnt the value of giving up before they got bored, half the time, the signature on their marriage licenses wasn't even dry.

The bond that the two of them shared was more than just a friendship, they were kindred sisters from another Mother lol.

And what stories they could tell, they did well to not blab them out in all the times they were drunk, normally its how does that saying go ''loose, lips, sink, ships''

This is a very humorous story as the girls think they are very clever at keeping their murderous secret between themselves, but it was like NOT EVEN AL !!
All the plotting they did and all the schemes they made, they were always found out before anything could be achieved, HOW was the question, they could not fathom that out.

Marcus knew the whole god damn time, and so did Elle's man Rhys, how did they not figure this out, they were the two amigos, out to conquer the world.

But them the guys get into their hearts and they try to unplan what has been set in stone, is it too late, you will have to read this very funny story, to find out for yourselves.

Oh, Jackie. She did kick this story's ass. Love You to Death is the tale of two rather unusual women with a penchant for offing their husbands, and rather quickly. Elle, Jill's co-conspirator, was a great, quirky secondary character. Together, Jill and Elle attempt to put out yet another unsuspecting male's fire. But Marcus is sly, distracting Jill with oft-sinister bouts of sex, experimenting with domestic punishment in the fun, kinky sort of way and Jill has the mindset that just maybe, maybe she will keep him.

The story is short, being a novella, but packed with more than a few laughs, movie references, even a few songs. Recommended as a fine piece of femme crime lit with a dash of weird romance. I really enjoyed devouring this story.

Really a 4.5 stars here!

for a first time author I enjoyed the book and the story line . I only gave it 3 star because it's a first book and I know the author will most likely get higher ratings the more she writes. I see great potential in her ! I look forward to more from this author ..
