Kyoko Church discovered the power of the written erotic word when she was 16 years old and penned a very explicit missive to her boyfriend detailing all the naughty things she wanted to do to him. When he received it, boyfriend was impressed. When he found it, father was not.

For the next 18 years she hid her naughty thoughts in shame. Until she found a community where they were once again appreciated for the well-imagined smut they are. Her short stories, novellas and novels have been published in anthologies by Black Lace, Rubicund Publishing and Xcite Books, Cleis Press, Go Deeper Press, Sweetmeats Press, in the Mammoth Book of Erotica and HarperCollins Mischief Books.

A Canuck by birth, she has recently made Australia her home. She is currently learning to drive on the left and say G’day convincingly.

Provocative, innovative and creative describe Ms. Church's Diary of a Library Nerd. The first chapter of this story is a bit off putting to read. This is in first person, from Charlotte's point of view. It's about a Charlotte aka Char, a librarian, who writes in her diary about her day. Sometimes she writes about her boring day which includes calling her bitch of a boss, Pigface. What is amusing is when Charlotte includes pictures to accompanying her diary entries. What is hawt is when Charlotte reveals her sexual proclivities. It's smoking hawt when the sexual scenes are accompanied by her sexual drawings.

This is one of the few adult books I've read where there are applicable drawings interwoven throughout the story. The style this story is written is quite appealing. To read about Charlotte's life as she goes through her sexual journey with not one but two men is fabulous. The kink in this story is delicious and intoxicating. The power Charlotte feels when she orders Nathan to her bidding is so good. She's just learning and coming into her femdom. Charlotte is a dirty mistress getting off on her boy toy.

When this story twists to include Charlotte's erotic exchange in submission to a sexual dominant, Edward, it kicks this story up a notch. It's well done how Charlotte's character struggles to balance her desires as she's learning more about the kinky side of life. Her experimentations and confessions of guilty desires brings her closer to the reader. When she pulls together a ménage, a reader may become giddy with the carnal heat. Definitely Charlotte is exploring erotic fantasies many women dream about in the privacy of their bedroom. Here is Charlotte, letting go and exploring to her animalistic delight.

I'm captivated by the writing voice. I'm pulled in as Charlotte experiences highs and lows. The kinky sex is bewitching. The graphic pictures are tempting. This is the kind of diary I wish I could have written as a young adult. This is the kind of life I wish I had experienced as a college student. This is the kind of life which many a reader will vicariously enjoy. Honestly, I can see this as a movie or a mini-series on TV. I hope an aspiring movie director reads this book and wants to product it. I'd watch the movie. Highly recommended to kinky readers who know the quiet ones are the ones to keep an eye on.

A definite one to keep you up all night that's for sure. Loved the story line, the style and erotic pics. Spot on. When's the sequel?

Charlotte is a librarian approaching 40 and in a stagnant marriage. When she meets a shy young man checking out a book about masturbation her life takes a turn she doesn’t expect.

Told in diary form, Char writes about how her life has suddenly changed. Included in the diary are pictures she draws. The story and the writing are compelling and the illustrations are nommylicious. The reason behind her big life change is revealed slowly through the diary. I couldn’t wait to turn the page and see what else would happen. Char’s sexual exploration feels very real and her doubts and insecurities are something she has to work through. My favorite part of the story is where she channels her new inner Domme. Since she discovers she also enjoys submission, she finds herself on the other end of the spectrum, enjoying being her Sir’s pet. I’m more a fan of FemDom, so I find the part about her boy toy much more enjoyable, but that’s just personal preference. This story is so well-written, even in diary form, that I couldn’t put it down. As far as Char goes, what a difference a year can make!

I finished this book in 2 sittings. I am not a big fan of erotica. In most cases, I just flip through them, to get to the 'good bits'. (Admit it - you do this too!) But this book had an actually story line, some character development and a lot of humour. When I first heard about it, I did roll my eyes. Being a female library worker, I get the whole 'sexy librarian' thing a lot. Usually people mention it 'jokingly' but there often is a 'but is it true?' glimmer in their eyes - like I am hiding some secret second life. So, I thought this book was just a perpetuation of that old chestnut, and it was kind of annoying. Whilst it started out like that, the story did progress beyond the 'sexy librarian' aspect, thank goodness.
There is a fair big of BDSM in this story and infact, it is rather central to it. And whilst this is an overused subject matter in erotic fiction, I did like that the key character delved in both 'sides' - dominant and submissive.
I liked the inclusion of the illustrations, be they incomplete doodles, sketches, whatever. Though I did find the rendering of 'Nathan' a bit disconcerting. He looked like a grown up version of Chucky from Rugrats!

I liked this book so much that I finished it in a day. I also enjoyed all the drawings included in the book as majority of books don't do this so it was an added touch. It also related to the story and whole plot around the book. Although it was a quick read, I was able to connect with the main character in the novel and the experiences she goes through.
