Kamron Khakimov was born into a creative family and was the eldest son of five children. After graduating from high school in Tashkent, he left for Moscow, where he entered the Literary Institute. A.M. Gorky . At 22 he was admitted to the Union of Writers of the USSR. In 1965, after graduating from the institute, he was invited to work as a chief consultant on Uzbek literature on the board of the Union of Writers of the USSR (JV USSR). Since 1977 - consultant to the Soviet Committee for Relations with Writers from Asia and Africa of the Foreign Commission of the USSR Writers 'Union, Deputy Chairman of the Soviet Committee for Relations with Writers from Asia and Africa, First Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Commission of the USSR Writers' Union.

Kamron Khakimov was engaged in translations, problems of development of Uzbek ( Turkic ) and Afro-Asian literature. His literary translations from the original have always been emotionally vivid and linguistically well-structured. Knowing the language of the original from which the translation was made, he also had a brilliant command of the Russian language into which he translated. Khakimov succeeded in finding correspondences between languages, as if "switching" the text from one language to another, which made the work uniquely whole and figurative. Over the years, the co-authors of the translations of Kamron Khakimov were such outstanding Soviet writers as Konstantin Simonov and Lydia Bat. Khakimov's translations included the stories of Abdulla Kakhhar "Tales of the Past" (co-authored with Konstantin Simonov), Adyl Yakubov"The story of a feuilleton", Murad Muhammad Dost "Return to Galatepe", K. Sultanov's novels "Ak-Darya" (co-authored with Lydia Bat), Said Akhmad "Forty-five days", Kamil Yashen 's plays "Death to the occupants", Z. Fatkhullina "Silver Wedding".

In the USA he published in the Russian periodicals with articles, reviews and translations. Prepared and published "Uzbek-English, Anglo-Uzbek" dictionary and "Anglo-Uzbek phrasebook" for students of American universities. His lectures on the theory of the Soviet translation school, guided by the ideas of equality of peoples, respect for national traditions, as well as lectures on the development of Soviet literature have always enjoyed well-deserved prestige abroad and attracted large audiences.
