Anton Galen and Sophie Briggs have been partners for nearly two years. After helping build a case against Anton's mother, the two have been relegated to much small cases. However, the two want nothing more than to get back into the field and do what they do best. When they finally get the break they are looking for, Anton and Sophie find themselves in close quarters and discover a chemistry neither one expected.
Sophie Briggs comes from a family with a history in law enforcement and wanted nothing more than to make her family proud, until tragedy tore them apart. I am definitely a fan of Josie Leigh's writing style.. she writes romance with strong elements of BDSM that are not only very sexy but also smart. That's one of the things I really enjoy about her books. She not only treats us to some seriously smokin sexy times.. but can throw some suspense in there with just enough angst to make me shake my Kindle a few times.
We met Anton Galen in her The Professor series.. but it is not necessary to read that series to read this stand alone spin off. Anton is what's known as a catch and release dom.. he trains submissives and the let's them go to find their own permanent dom. He's also an FBI agent... yum !!
On to Sophie.. I kind of sighed out loud there.. Sophie took a bit for me to get used to. She's also and FBI agent and Anton's partner for the past couple of years. They've never crossed the line but there's always been an attraction there. She's got a kinky side to her also, but she has tried to ignore it. A past relationship made her feel like she was dirty for wanting to be tied up and dominated. She's got trust issues also.....
And undercover fraud assignment finally puts them in close enough proximity constantly to act on the feelings they've had for each other.. Anton has had a feeling that Sophie had a submissive hidden inside of her and he is going to show her how to take control of her sexuality .. by giving HIM control
But not only are Anton and Sophie entering this new relationship.. they are doing it while working undercover at a corporation they are trying to bust....with a baddie that wants to take control of Sophie for himself.. and I admit to being totally pissed off a bit at Sophie bit time .. BIG TIME
Even though I never really loved Sophie .. I did love Anton. And the story interesting and the sex was HOT. And there was plenty of it ;). I enjoyed this one and am looking forward to what Josie put's out next. If you aren't familiar with her books, you should definitely check her out. Her Professor series is still one of my favorite BDSM series I've read.

I had the pleasure of beta reading this and loved it. Could not put it down! 50 Shades of Gray meets Miss Congeniality. What drew me in the most was the fact that Sophie was not part of the scene. I found it intriguing watching her slowly come into the BDSM world. And Anton, sigh, what a wonderful partner, both inside and outside of the bedroom.

FBI partners, Sophie and Anton goes undercover to bring down suspect, Connor Bledsoe of medical fraud. While working as a regional manager and assistant and pretending to be lovers, the latter becomes real.
Anton senses a submissive side in Sophie and it has him swearing to train her his way. Sophie, recovering from a broken heart and curious about Anton's world is all in.
The two infiltrate the business training facility and Conner quickly notices Sophie. His dominate side also sees the submissive side in her and he formulates a plan to steal her from Anton. After being forced to adjust their original undercover plans, Anton makes an effort to learn more about Sophie and realize he want to build something lasting, in addion to their Dom/sub relationship. Conner, obsessed with Sophie continue his scheming.
Sex is abundant in this story and the plot is more or less a backdrop. But it's a fun read with a quick ending and for some reason I kind of felt bad for Conner because in the end he convinced himself that he really cared for Sophie.

This book took longer than expected! My muse was interrupted and I wrote Seven Days because that's the story that came out of my head first. I hope you enjoy Anton's story!
