About the author

As a child who possessed an overactive imagination, I loved creative writing and planned a career in journalism. Family responsibilities prevailed, however, and I had to put my dreams on hold. In 2012, a series of life-changing events inspired me to rekindle my passion for writing.

Creating the characters and storyline for A Second Path and Lost Guardian has brought me tremendous joy, as well as many sleepless nights. A Second Path is set in Edinburgh, both in the Victorian era and the present day. Learning about Victorian Edinburgh has given me a new appreciation for my beautiful hometown.

Both novels involved extensive research, which has been hard work but very enjoyable and educational. I've been lucky enough to meet archaeologists and Egyptology researchers who were enthusiastic about my work and only too happy to share their knowledge. Producing the novels has been an amazing journey, which will hopefully continue!

When I'm not glued to my laptop I enjoy belly dancing and yoga, which help to keep me bendy! I also spend at least an hour every day walking my white Siberian Husky. Obviously, this isn't so pleasant in bad weather, but it provides the writer in me with excellent 'thinking' time.

Thoroughly enjoyed this first novel by G.A.Wilson. It’s a big read and I’m not the quickest reader so it did take me some time to get through but it was a really interesting story. There’s something for everyone here – romance, mystery, ancient Egypt, past life regression and enough twists and turns to keep you guessing. Also loved that it was set mainly in my home town of Edinburgh so I felt I knew exactly where the characters were.

I remember getting to the end of this book and discovering that I was actually holding my breath! I read it some time ago and reviewed it on Amazon but forgot to review it here. Having finished and reviewed the sequel, "Lost Guardian" I thought I'd better review the first book here too! For all those who love a good story with relatable characters, a touch of magic and intrigue woven into real places in history, this book delivers 100%. The sequel leaves you wanting to carry on too and I can't wait for the next one to come out!

This book was great. It features Ancient Egypt, reincarnation, a haunting & romance; what more could you want?

It's really nicely written. Very tongue-in-cheek, and great depth to the characters. I really identified with Kate.

I can't wait to read the sequel!
