Fear's Revenge

Allison Symms had forgotten everything about that night over twenty years ago. The night she was held captive in an old cabin in the woods. Last thing she can remember is running through the woods and crashing head on into something, falling back knocking herself unconscious. She doesn't remember anything about that night until one day she gets knocked over by a city bus taking a turn to sharp and hits her head against a flower planter and goes unconscious once again. Then she begins to have horrific nightmares and flashbacks to events that she can't remember. After seeing her therapist and undergoing hypnosis, all is revealed about the lost events of that one traumatic night. Allison decides to take the law into her own hands and take Fear's Revenge on the four boys that held her captive. As each detailed step of revenge Allison takes against, Cole, Tyler, Tony and Bobby she is beginning the healing and growing process in more ways than she bargained for.

The idyllic backdrop of summer camp in the wilderness was right up my alley, having fond memories of my experience of summer camp in northern Ontario.

But nothing like this trauma ever happened there but in Lynn Case's novel it does.

The characters are complex, despite their age,the plot riveting with a fluid steady cadence and her writing style very descriptive with vivid visual imagery.

Without giving the plot away, the story not only deals with a very traumatic and life changing event,it shows the "fight or flight" response one is capable of when facing adversity.

The perseverance and resilience prevails in the end, but the scars are still there.

I really wanted to like this book. I got the ebook version and I couldn't believe the number of errors in the language! Someone ought to proof read this book, obviously. The story was so unbelievable, it's almost laughable. There are long chapters in the book that have absolutely nothing to do with the story, as if the author was padding the book. The chapter on a trip to Italy which ends up in a sexual orgy is supposed to be amusing, but it just made me cringe. I'm truly sorry to say this, but this is an awful book!

Very good start to this book , but it got a little ridiculous towards the end. It was entertaining on the various methods of revenge that Allyson invented , then it started to get boring because of her fears of telling her daughter. What happened to Cole ? His son?
Lots of grammar errors. all in not too bad but could have earned a five star with a bit more effort .

Good try but the book is in need of some serious editing. The plot wanders all over the place, there are lots of typos, and to me the characters lacked credibility. Some of the sex scenes seem completely gratuitous and added nothing to the story.

This book was AWESOME! You never knew what the main character Alyson was going to come up with next. What a rollercoaster read. I was on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put it down. I always had to turn the next page to see what was going to happen next.

This book would make a great movie!

Can't wait to read the second one by Lynn Case. I ordered it already and waiting by the mailbox.

My friend gave me this book for a present and told me it was just what I needed. She was right, it made me see that I can take control of my own life and make a change. This story really made an in pack on the way I see a few things. I have shared it with my support group. It is a must read for women.

This novel is simply awesome. Lynn has done a great job. I am totally into Revenge and I couldn't ask anything more in a well-written novel.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that likes a good read. Fantastic story and extremely hard to put down once you start reading it.
