I usually struggle to stick with non-fiction novels but this was an easy read. His mum sounds like an amazing lady!

the best book I have ever read. I’ve been at the place where I thought taking my own life is the only option and this book shows you how it doesn’t always feel like that. Thank you Roman for putting into words how I’ve felt for many years. Cried multiple times and laughed too, I’ve never been so thankful for a book.

Honestly, this was exactly what I needed. I wasn’t sure I could face it at first — I was going through my own pain and didn’t want to bring everything back to the surface. I was scared it might trigger my PTSD, and for a while, I avoided picking it up for that very reason.
But I’m so glad I did.
There were moments that completely broke me — like when Roman was told his friend had died. I cried. Not just for him, but for myself too. Somehow, his story helped me find pieces of my own. I’ve been going through CBT therapy, and having this alongside it has made a real difference. It’s helped me realise that what I feel is valid, that I’m not alone, and that it’s okay — necessary, even — to talk about what I’ve been through.
It’s rare to come across something that feels this raw and real. I’ll carry it with me for a long time, and it’ll always have a place on my shelf.
Roman — thank you. Thank you for being brave enough to say the hard things, and for doing it with so much heart. In a world that often feels loud and hollow, it means everything to know there are people like you who still care deeply and use their voice to help others feel seen. You’ve helped me more than you know. x

Slightly disappointed - yes.
An interesting read - yes.
Many varied insights into Roman’s childhood, teenage and young adulthood - some of which maybe a bit too descriptive ‘my first w***’.
Very honest and thought provoking view from him on growing up in the shadow of a celebrity family and more recent suicide of his friend.
Overall a good read.

We have the one show on every night. This week was weird reading his book whilst hearing his voice on the telly.
I liked Roman's openness and of all the books I have read on mental health this one answers the questions I have on men's mental health. Jamie Laing's book I can personally relate too, but Roman's book is full of more answers on my research into understanding men's mental health.
