Issues contains a collection of scripts, discussion prompts and activities for use in the classroom, as a way of opening up students to understand and process topical and sensitive issues in their world, from a range of perspectives. The art of performing harnesses the students engagement in the subject and offers a chance to immerse themselves within the protection of a character or role.

This book gives middle school and secondary school students a chance to discuss contemporary topics problems during the classroom rehearsal and performance of these scripts. There are enough parts for all the class to participate, and discussion prompts and activities are provided to extend and deepen classroom discussion.

Extensively workshopped and already used in classrooms across Australia this is a large collection of student play scripts allows students and teachers to improve their ability to understand, navigate and discuss sensitive issues in the classroom.

Hazel’s 2001 Antarctic expedition inspired the young adult eco-thriller 'Antarctica's Frozen Chosen', picture book ‘Antarctic Dad’ (reprinted by Kipas) and the memoir, ‘Antarctic Writer on Ice’. But she also likes reading about Antarctica as a hobby.

Hazel writes a new story for each of her four grandsons each birthday. 'Go Go Gecko' is latest and is being translated into Indonesian and in 2D format.
