SHE RIDES by Adelle Laudan

Missy heads out on her vintage motorcycle for what proves to be a ride of a lifetime. Every new road brings with it new friends, new experiences and even a sexy romp with a tattoo artist. It's summers' end when Missy rides into the small town of Waverly for Bike Week, and sets sight on the most beautiful man she's ever seen on two wheels. Tommy marks the beginning of many hot, steamy nights. Is he Missy's, 'happy ever after', or is there a twist around the next bend in the road, nobody saw coming?

Raised by her father and an extended family of bikers, Missy looks toward the open highway and adventure after her father passes away. Wherever she drops her kickstand there’s a welcoming group of two-wheeling members who’ll adopt a newcomer. She’s looking for the highway to be her happily-ever-after but one bad decision leaves her in a world of suspense.

Missy owns a vintage Indian motorcycle - a classic set of wheels that most bikers can appreciate. If it’s not the bike that attracts them it’s Missy’s beauty that’ll stun any man. She’s a lucky lady with several leading men to protect her, but the one hot and sexy Tex who starts out a hero ends up dark and dangerous. Unfortunately the reader never learns why, other than that he’s a drunk. His vindictiveness has something to do with her bike, but the explanation never comes. This story has its moments of great suspense but many pieces of the plot are missing. What is Jag’s story? Why do the Whisky Monsters attack so violently? Why does Tex want bloodshed? Readers will want more answers to this intriguing cast that Ms. Laudan developed.
“She Rides” has a plot with sweeping curves and a few dead ends to navigate. There’s no doubt, though, that a reader will finish the last page and appreciate the kinship of Missy’s family and the way she grows from her hard knocks.

Seems like I am reading biker/MC books on an international level these days. Last book was set in Australia, this one is set in Ontario, Canada. I am a little torn about this one and right now I would rate it 3 stars but I can say this book is one I'll think about for a while. Not sure I like how the author ended the book and the way she resolved the relationships in the book. To me, there are actually two H's in this book and you never know until the end which one the h will end up with.

SPOILERS*********
The h (Missy) is raised by her father when her Mother dies when Missy is born. The father leads a group of recreational bikers. They are not a real MC, don't wear patches, etc. Just a group of guys that ride bikes and gather on a social level. The first H (Jag) has been in Missy's life for years and the story begins with Missy dealing with her father's death the previous year. Jag tells her he loves her but she feels she needs to leave and seek out her inner self for lack of better words. So she takes off on her vintage MC and travels away from her home town. She meets some interesting people along the way. The second H (Pappy) is an older biker that ends up being her BFF and taking care of her but not in a romantic way. Pappy falls in love with her too. There is an actual MC gang that makes their appearance in the book and there is violence and death of most of her father's former group. This book covers a span of 20 years and the sex scenes include sex with the scumbag Missy ends up marrying and one f/f scene between Missy and the tattoo artist. There are no sex scenes between Missy and the two H's at all. The book was a pretty good read but like I said I don't like the way the author handled the resolution of which H Missy chooses in the end.
