The last volume started weak and ended on a high note. This volume does the exact opposite!

It starts by finishing off all the stories started in the previous volume, with some Dingo protests and a return of the Dark Legion. It drags in a few places, but it otherwise very solid Knuckles. If this had been the whole volume I'd have given it 4 stars easily.

Unfortunately we are then treated to a multi issue story about Knuckles having feelings for a girl, and having to ask advice from his parents about dating... Seriously, that's the story. To make matters worse we get to see Julie-Su pine over Knuckles, and then Vector starts talking about women and how smooth he is, then Vector tries to pick up some women... And it goes on forever. This is not aided by the fact that I'm not sure anyone writing this comic has ever been on a real date, because this stuff is hard to read, and I'm a bit horrified that some kids would have had some of their earlies dating lessons from this book.

There's some background story here where Mighty tries to find Ray the Squirrel, but it's a bit confusing and never really amounts to much. The only reason to pay attention to it is that it's the introduction of Ray the Squirrel into the comics, so that's kinda neat. But man did this volume crash and burn hard at the end. Only one left to go, here's hoping...
