We are 1/3 through this book. My 5 and 7 year old LOVE it and want to read from it every day. I also have really enjoyed it, the pictures are great, especially those that are magnified. They want to read some of it every day. They have said they want to be a doctor and scientist when they grow up. They asked me if they can see a real brain. It is a fascinating, great book. It makes them have big dreams for themselves, and it make me wonder what great things could be in their future! : )
This is a good overview of human body systems. I appreciate the straightforward, intelligent description of reproduction. The section on nutrition is outdated, and I'm sure several other sections contain outdated material, as well. Like many encyclopedias for kids, this one does not read smoothly. Each page has paragraphs of facts on a human body system, but there is no natural flow or narrative. This makes me less motivated to read it aloud to my kids, but we finally did finish the book!
