I am conflicted about rating this with the dichotomy of how detailed the writer was in the expose of Marcos's indulgent yet grimy lives at the expense of Filipinos. So if it is for history, of letting everyone know how much of a sick bastard he is, then, as sordid as this tale is, this is a 5. On the other hand, my only wish is for him to burn in hell, and for this country to just SEE how much this family has abused the Philippines.
Many people (hello you on Goodreads) have asked how to get a copy to read yourself. It's easy: 1) Get a local library card. ("My most important investigative tool" --Vincent D'Onofrio, Law and Order, Criminal Intent) 2) Figure out how to do an "Inter-Library Loan", commonly called an ILL. You might have to visit your local library to ask how to do this, if it's not on your local library's website. 3) Wait +/- a week. 4) Pick up this book at your local library. Critical reading to understand Philippine politics especially now that Marcos' unapologetic son, Bong-Bong, has shockingly been elected President for the next 6 years. (That sentence will probably destroy my Philippine resident immigration status).
