This is the dumbest, most random, oddest children's book I've ever read. The text was often 2 - 4 words per 2 page spread. They do not tell a story. I'm incredibly disappointed in this book. Its awful!!

Text is definitely simple enough, but I had trouble following the story: first we learn that some dinosaurs are bipedal and others quadripedal, then there’s an airport and a beach and surfing and fishing, then a robbery and a police chase, and the police cars and a purple stegosaurus seem to be traveling at the same speed, which is also the same speed as the burglars, but the stegosaurus doesn’t seem to be a police officer, and then a group of dinosaurs, including the stegosaurus, fall asleep by the road, and where exactly did their pillows and blankets come from? And why do dinosaurs go to the beach at night, and were ANY of the introductory scenes actually related to the robbery and/or police chase?

Despite having dinosaurs and a rhyme scheme, this book was not a big hit. Not as much as "How Do Dinosaurs Count To Ten" from the same library trip.

My son loved this book. We laughed at the silliness and enjoyed the illustrations. Repetitive language in the text helped him recognize words he wasn't familiar with.

Very simple, almost too simple for even young readers. Does provide alliteration and rhyme examples.

I like Thacher Hurd's art and those frisky dinos.
