Poor Hound just wants to be left alone, but Pup keeps copying him and following him around—until the end when it’s Hound following Pup home for dinner. The sentences are simple and the rhyming words at the end of most of them should help new readers as they work through them.

Simple rhyming text about a puppy that does everything a big dog does. Some words have multiple syllables. Not as "easy" as the easiest books, but still great for beginning readers. The illustrations are colorful and appealing.

Cute rhyming book for a beginning reader.
Excerpt from the book:
What was that?
An old leather shoe!
Pup pulled it away.
He wanted it, too.
So Hound chased the ducks quacking their song.
Pup dropped the shoe, then tagged along.
