Just want to say a massive thank you to this author for giving me an amazing opportunity to read this brilliant book early!!

I enjoyed this book, I’m not much of a self help reader but I didn’t know I needed this book until I started reading it. It’s helped me realise a lot about myself & the way I think and it’s taught me how to change the way I see things & think.

I feel like I am going to take away a lot of knowledge from reading this and when I find myself overthinking & stressing about things that I shouldn’t be I will refer back to this book so thank you!!

I would recommend this as it was a great read and really gets you thinking & realising how to change the way you see things and how your mind takes things in.

Thank you again🫶🏼

First of all, I thank the author for giving me the pdf version of the book to read.

Secondly, I must specify that I usually don't read personal development books, but when I do, I always make sure that at least 2 or 3 things stay or learn from the reading.

For me, I found this book, unlike others, much easier and less full of many "filler" things, so to speak. I mean, I like that the author talked about the problems she faced and that she offered advice and methods to overcome certain problems that everyone faces. And it was equally full of advice, personal experience and examples. Sometimes I can't read a book like this because I always want to get to the page where it tells me what I should do or change, but surprisingly, this book was really well written.

And the tips seemed super helpful to me, and some of them I'm actually going to try to implant in my daily routine. I think I liked it the most when the author talked about the different types of anxiety, because it helped me learn more about the anxiety I sometimes face. But I also found it useful when she talked about procrastination, because this is something I have always faced and will face in the future. I'm very much a perfectionist in my own way, so reading about this was kind of liberating.

I was able to identify myself in this book specifically with procrastination part. The book help me to self-reflect about my feeling of guilt and stress about my procrastination. I’m not a huge fan of CBT - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy skills but I can see how they can help. I loved the self-compassion examples “I release myself from the burden of perfection”. Thank you Celine Kheir for let me read the book and for the manuscript copy.

This book was sent to me by the author, so firstly thank you to her for that.

I don’t ever read self help books so wasn’t sure what I was expecting or even to resonate with it. I was wrong.

Back in June during the time of completing my degree, I ended up having the worst anxiety attacks. There was no sleeping, eating and my body constantly shook with the stress and anxiety of trying to complete my dissertation. It was honestly the worst experience I’ve ever had and never want to go through it again.

There were times reading this where I was nodding along finally understanding where my anxiety had been heightened and how there could have been ways in which I could have helped myself had I had the tools to do so.

It was very insightful and hope it is able to help others too.

I really enjoyed this book. As someone who suffers from severe overthinking and anxiety, I found this book to be helpful. It did get a little long winded and repetitive at times but I think it just shows how important this information is. I look forward to using the tactics and worksheets to help myself!

How To Calm Your Mind by Celine Kheir
My Rating: 4/5⭐️

Review: Thank you @celine_kheir_ for the gifted digital copy of your book! It came at just the right time in my life as I’ve been struggling with my mental health. This book helped me compartmentalize my anxiety and try to work through why I’m actually anxious. There are guided steps and self help tips clearly laid out in this book which is very helpful to annotate/highlight. I recommend this book to anyone struggling with overthinking, procrastinating, and anxiety.

Before I get into my review, I would like to acknowledge that I may be a bit biased, being that I am a mental health therapist. I was also asked to be an ARC reader and was given a free virtual copy for my honest review. With that being said, let's get into it.
I am not one to give low ratings on books. I honestly hate doing it! I just found myself struggling to read this. There were writing errors that frustrated me, and I found most of it to be repetitive. I became upset as well with the worksheets that I felt were basically almost copy and pasted from online. I know this because I use, for example, SMART goal worksheets with clients all the time. My issue with this is that hardly anything was cited. I was very surprised to see all the references at the end of the book (one being Very Well Mind, and several being YouTube links) because none of them were cited in the reading.
Overall, it read like a college paper that my professor would not have accepted and I could not stop hearing the critiques in my head.

I was approached by the author to read her new self-help book and I was more than happy to do so! I’m not much of a huge reader on self help books, but I do hold a strong interest in the concept of anxiety and overthinking.

When starting her book, I was pleasantly surprised that it was easy to read. I am currently in a Masters counseling program and the amount of textbooks I have to read is ridiculous. So reading this self help book was a huge relief when it was read incredibly easily. I breezed through it because it was so easy to understand and relate to. Literally every sentence that was written, I was nodding my head constantly because I could relate to the exact same thing.

I will say that it was pretty repetitive. There were several instances when I had thought I repeated a section because of the amount of repetition in the book. I understand there is a lot to say about the matter, but it ends up just saying the same thing just in different words.

The explanation of overthinking, procrastination, and anxiety were beautifully written, however. Despite the repetitiveness to it, it definitely provided helpful information to the readers of what exactly these situations consist of. Going further into the book, we reach the section of what methods can be taken to better manage these challenges.

I strongly liked the inclusivity of resources and worksheets for the readers. It makes it easy accessible and encourages the readers to take advantage of it and utilize it for their benefit. When in this counseling program, I often find myself researching worksheets for my clients, and it can be a pain sometimes. So the author’s choice of providing these resources directly in the book was something I respected.

All in all, this is an incredibly helpful and informative book for those who struggle with anxiety and effects of anxiety. While I saw a review saying that it was poorly written, I have to say I liked the casual tone of the book. It wasn’t incredibly professional or academic in a way that you barely understood what was being said. The writing was more relaxed that it felt like the author took my struggles with anxiety and knew exactly what words to use to describe them. I loved it!

“How To Calm Your Mind” is an insightful self-help book by life coach Celine Kheir. Broken up into three parts, Kheir guides her readers through the concepts of overthinking, procrastination, and anxiety in great detail, ranging from what they are to how to manage them.

Overall, Kheir has produced a helpful guide. Complete with worksheets and plenty of example exercises, “How To Calm Your Mind” has a lot of potential to help readers overcome the troubles they may face. Kheir does an excellent job vividly explaining how these behaviors come about and how exactly they can present themselves.

I personally found this book to be very helpful. The section on procrastination particularly caught my interest. Kheir lays out actionable steps to work toward overcoming this obstacle, making the content digestible and not overwhelming. My biggest takeaway from the book is a greater understanding of myself and the behaviors I struggle with. I better understand the patterns of my behavior, and I believe that knowing that these are common issues many people face will allow readers to be less critical of themselves for possessing these habits. This book has a lot of potential to impact one’s life in a positive way.

This book could be made even better with a bit more fine tuning. Although all the information in the book is important, similar statements were made multiple times in the same section, causing these passages to feel repetitive. Although I applaud the detail in this book, I think it could be dialed back a little bit. I spent a lot of time reading about the causes and signs of procrastination before getting to the section where solutions were offered, which is the portion of the book I was most eager to get to.

Beyond those minor critiques, Kheir has constructed a very detailed and well researched self-help book that many readers will benefit from!

Thank you so much to author Celine Kheir for providing me a e-book copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

I'd first like to give a big thank you to the author of this wonderful book, Celine Kheir, for gifting me a copy of this manuscript in exchange for an honest review.

I will be completely honest, this was my first time reading a self-help book from start to finish. I have never been able to successfully complete one, mostly due to the way they are written. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to read this book. Celine wrote this in a manner that was easy to follow along, engaging, and quite honestly it was helpful from the very start.

I took my time reading this book and did each of the exercises and worksheets that are included. As someone who suffers with postpartum anxiety and anxiety following a traumatic experience I wanted to get the most out of this opportunity I was given. I found this to be extremely helpful. From the reassurance that anxiety is a normal body response, to ways to recognize when anxiety is creeping up, and exercises to work through anxiety and intrusive thoughts. Armed with these new tools, I feel better prepared to take on anxiety when it decides to creep up on me again.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for ways to help work through overthinking, procrastination, and anxiety. For me, I would prefer a physical copy of the book. I think it would be easier to highlight and bookmark and to find certain things and come back to them for reference when needed.

First I want to thank Celine for sending me a copy of her book. Thank you Celine, I’ve enjoyed this book so much.

Second, if you don’t like long reviews… READ IT ! Everything in this book is beyond my expectations of a self-help book.

Third, the actual review :)
Reading this book gave me a new perspective of mental health. Yes anxiety, depression, overthinking and procrastination is a big part of it. Celine breaks down the meaning and causes of each of these things that we go through on a constant basis and not just me or you the whole world every single human being on this earth goes through things physically, mentally and emotionally. I love self-help books and most are the same telling you why you feel this way and it’s probably bc of so and so. But how to calm your mind gives you exercises, worksheets and offer amazing references and resources. This book takes you through the process of self growth and it starts with you taking action. I recommend this book to anyone who struggles with overthinking, anxiety and procrastination.
p.s read on a iPad if you can or purchase the physical book. I was reading on my kindle and it was slow to type my notes :( after awhile I just switched to paper.

3.5 ⭐️

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review and want to first thank Celine for the opportunity to read her work.

I have ADHD and often with self help books I find them hard to get into or to retain the information, which thankfully was not the case here.
How to Calm Your Mind is well written, easy to follow and I love that the information seems to come from personal experiences which helped me relate to the author and the information being delivered.

It includes worksheets and breathing exercises that I look forward to using and I especially enjoyed the chapter on ‘Breaking the Chains of Overthinking’. The Brain Dump Journaling is something I will apply in the future when I’m feeling overwhelmed.

Reading is so subjective and I think it’s important to remember (especially with self help books) that what works for one person may not work for the other. I feel it’s important to take the pieces that work for you and apply them to your life as you feel suits.

I do agree with some reviewers that the book can be repetitive at times and also would’ve enjoyed the references being cited in the book with the text rather than just at the end to make it easier to refer to.

Thank you for the tools, the information and for being so vulnerable with us to create this book, Celine.

*I was provided a copy of this book for free for a fair and honest review*

Review: i’m not a huge, self-help, book, reader, or fan, so this one is outside of my wheelhouse for what I normally read and review. However, I enjoyed reading this more than I thought I would. I really enjoyed all the explanations around why we as human beings have these behaviors: overthinking, procrastination, and anxiety. If I knew anyone who is hoping to examine those behaviors more and take proactive steps in their life around them, I would recommend this book. I also thoroughly appreciated that this book is upfront that it won’t necessarily change your life unless you take the time and steps needed yourself. It was clear that reading the book itself, without needed action and introspection, would not lead to change - which I found refreshing.

Synopsis: I don’t think I can say it better than she does herself: “This book provides actionable strategies that provide noticeable improvements from day one. By taking a cue from cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and nature therapy, you can set yourself on a path to a life of fulfillment, satisfaction, and peace.”

I want to start off by saying that there was information in this book that I found very interesting and I'm very glad I will be taking away new knowledge from this read. I found some of the charts and worksheets very helpful. There were parts of this book that was very relatable to me and my mental health struggles and I really appreciated that. Not once did I feel like the author did not understand mental health issues or the struggles that come along with it. I enjoyed the inclusion of the breathing exercises as I feel like that's something that some readers may enjoy as well. You can really tell that a lot of time and research went into writing this book and for that I am extremely grateful because I feel like people can really learn a lot from this.
Having said all that I found this book to be repetitive. I was asking myself especially coming onto the end "wait, didn't I just read that?" and that was a bit of a letdown for me, because everything else was okay.
Overall 3.5 roundup for me.
Thank you the author for sending me a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

The author was kind enough to approach me to ask me to read and review this book early, and I felt honored to have early access to this manuscript. As someone who struggles daily with anxiety, and is working with doctors and therapists to manage my mental health, I fully recommend this book. I enjoyed the interactive nature of this book, with the worksheets and activities, which serve to inspire the reader to take charge of their own narrative rather than just reading about it.

If you're on the fence about taking the plunge, I ask you this. Why not spend a mere 9.99 (or free with KU) and take the chance on this book helping to change your life for the better? If you're back and forth wondering "why would I?", I counter your question with another. Why wouldn't you? Take a step toward better mental health and wellbeing with How to Calm Your Mind.

Celine is a kind soul. I have interacted with her through Instagram regarding her book and I can say it is truly a pleasure to know her. Take the chance. Buy the book.

First off, thank you to Celine for sharing with me the PDF of this book in exchange for the review!

This book is separated out into 3 sections: overthinking, procrastination, and anxiety.

I really resonated with the overthinking portion of the book. I appreciate the ways the author laid out the pros and cons of overthinking. That, while it can be useful, it can also be harmful if it begins to overrun our lives.

In each section, she explains how our body processes these feelings and offers a variety of options to help work through the problems to allow your mind to be a calmer space. Options include Journaling with included prompts, worksheets, exercises with photos to detail how to do them, and ideas for goal setting.

This was an easy and informative read. I think this book could be a great resource for someone looking for ways/ideas to mentally feel better. It's reader friendly.

I enjoyed this read! Thank you again for the opportunity to read and review.

Thank you for sending me a copy of your book.
I always believe that everything happens for a reason and your book arrived at the perfect time. ♥️

I’ve struggled with mental health my ENTIRE life. Anxiety is my biggest battle but I also overthink and procrastinate. I never realized that overthinking, procrastination, and anxiety are closely interlinked.

I really enjoyed the way this book was written. It was easy to read and comprehend. It did get a tad repetitive but overall it was worth it. It shows you the concepts of overthinking, procrastination, and anxiety in great detail, ranging from what they are to how to manage them. This book was so relatable and I hope it can help others as it has helped me.

This is the only book that I ever highlighted.

While I might not be a top notch procrastinator, I do overthink and have anxiety and all three actually relate to each other. This book helps you figure out how to be more productive and happy life without carrying a bunch of heavy weight on your shoulders.

This book was one big reminder to be kinder to yourself and how to overcome obstacles that interfere with your life. I highlighted a lot of what was written as they are kind reminders and affirmations that I might need throughout the day or during difficult times.

I highly recommend this book as it is written so well in a way that you want your brain to think like that too! This is definitely a great tool to help with life no matter how much or how little you suffer from overthinking, procrastination, and anxiety.

I had high hopes for this novel as someone who does suffer from anxiety. However, I felt most of the information in this book was surface level info and some of it was common sense. I also felt the material was often repetitive. I think the author could have condensed the chapters to make the reading more cohesive. The last chapter felt very redundant and had the feel of a conclusion paragraph in a college essay. Overall, I think the author shared her knowledge on the topic but I don’t believe it lives up to its title of being the “ultimate guide”.

I was given a free copy of this book for my honest review.

This book is all about how to overcome your anxiety, overthinking and procrastination. I found myself highlighting and taking notes throughout the whole book because there were so many useful exercises! I will definitely be referring back to this whenever I’m in a stressful situation to help myself move past my issues. I also liked that the book didn’t necessarily feel like a lecture, it just felt like some useful advice.

I’d recommend this book if you’re experiencing any of these things in your life because you will definitely learn some things through reading it!

This book tackles overthinking, procrastination, and anxiety. Celine gives a comprehensible description of what these three problems are and multiple realistic solutions on how to overcome them.

I don't read self-help too often, I've only read one other self-help book before this one, but I will say that Celine did a great job connecting with her reader. You can tell through her writing that she is passionate about helping her readers tackle these problems that affect everyday lives.

Overall, this is a great book to read if you are struggling to overcome overthinking, procrastination, or anxiety.

That's all!!

This book is not my normal read and I think if you were looking for a book like this you would probably like it much more than I did. That being said, I found myself enjoying the quotes in this book and some of the advice it had to give. I feel like I really enjoyed the first half of the book and felt I could personally use some of the things talked about. When we got to the second half, it just seemed like I had heard a lot of the same things before and it was kind of repetitive. Overall it was pretty good and it seems the author put a lot of work into it.

I am going to start off by saying I am not a self-help reader at all. They are hard for me to get into, and my mind wanders while reading. With that said, this book was very easy to read and kept my attention. I initially wanted to read it because I feel like I overthink and wanted to know if there were other ways to help.

I did like how it was split up into sections where the different types of each topic were described. Because overthinking, procrastination, and anxiety can be related in many ways there was a little repetitiveness in the introduction of each section, but the techniques used were different. Those introductions felt a little more about what the author learned about the topics from her own history and a little research and the techniques felt liked they were well researched. I think this helped it to be more relatable in a way because it wasn’t just reading facts.

I was happy to learn a couple of the techniques in this book I already use. I felt like I could relate to the information on each topic even though it didn’t fit my situation perfectly. I am an overthinker, but I usually have no problem falling asleep as soon as I lay down. The worksheets and writing prompts I found helpful for the times I needed to focus my thoughts. I am not a person who journals and while I have yet to start, I have been using my notes app to keep track of these tools when I need them. After finishing the book, I found a lot of the anxiety I felt had stopped once I finished college, but I wish I was aware of these tools during those years.

Thank you @celine_kheir_ for the gifted copy.
