12 Steps in Action: A Step Guide to Understanding and Applying the Principles of Recovery

Rate this book
This book was written to be a resource for anyone affected by addiction. The goal is to make the concepts and principles of the 12 steps tangible and uncomplicated so they can be easily accessible to all. It is designed to provide enough guidance to be useful, but also enough freedom for each individual to evolve organically in their own way intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. This guide offers multiple approaches so a sponsor, active participant, or group can choose a method and timing that works best for them. It's based on spiritual principles that can be applied to any belief system.
This book was specifically designed for people that prefer a more hands-on approach to the 12 steps. It maps out a process to work a step each month for 12 months so a person can experience all 12 steps in one year. It promotes weekly contact between a sponsor and sponsee to keep the forward momentum going and to build and strengthen that relationship to maximize the benefits for both. One key component of this book is that it enhances whatever belief system a person chooses without dictating to them what it should be. Whether a person practices a devout faith, is atheist, agnostic, or somewhere undefined in their spiritual path, this book can enrich that philosophy or faith.
