16 year old Trina and 17 year old Jake are doing everything they can to keep both of there siblings safe. The government has genetically altered a version of the Spanish influenza. and those that become ill with it are euthanized. This leaving only the strongest. They take up dwelling inside of a massive cave system which they are unaware is keeping them healthy and safe. the cave is unknown and not marked on the maps. It is also limestone so infrared radar will not show their body heat. it also shields them from illness due to its medicinal properties. The water from the stream runs through the limestone which also purifies it. The end up taking on a total of 4 more families. And when the Regime decideds to burn the whole state they must learn to survive
