After years of ostracism and abuse by her parents and husband, Camille flees to her sister's and joins a women's group that forces her to confront her past and identity before she can become the woman she yearns to be. Reprint.
Sadly, this book didn't do much for me. The plot was very simple and formulaic and the ending was contrived. For such a short book I found it to be a slow read. Definitely a beach book and not a very engaging one. Patty Rice has potential as an author who needs to study foundational components of literary works. A great novel is more than a bunch of plot twists.
For some reason this book really affected me when I read it. Perhaps because I had just uprooted myself and moved to a new city, and was developing new friends, working in a new place, and not sure what was what. I remember it as a very comforting read.
Interesting read with plot twists that didn't always make sense to me. Imagery in book was very vivid. Some of the characters I would like to meet. It make a good book club reading selection that kept discussion rolling.
I read this a few years ago after finding it in a thrift store. It's a surprising read all about redemption and self love. I enjoyed it and would recommend it.
