Deep secrets

Wow, I didn't expect all the craziness in this book. I felt sorry for Joshua and Stacia - they both went through things in childhood that should have been dealt with long ago. The irony is one had a supportive family and the other a hateful parent, yet they both carried secrets that led to new secrets. The story ended abruptly as if the author didn't know where to go from there; it didn't appear to be a cliffhanger. I took one star off for that reason.

This was a pretty well paced book from my girl Teresa Patterson who always pays homage to St. Petersburg in her novels. Joshua Parker was shall we say "curious" and got far more than he was seeking with Chancy. As with all secrets, Joshua's was semi-discovered by nosey co-worker , Georgetta who used info to blackmail him into a relationship.

Stacia's situation was one of severe abuse perpetrated against her by everyone from her mother to her stepfather to her husband. Abuse was sexual, verbal, and physical and still on-going. I only wish we were told where Michael was let out. I wanted to know the rest of that story!

I've been a big fan of Ms. Patterson's for quite a while now. What I love about her books is that she always writes about real issues, and draws you in immediately. Her stories flow effortlessly, she seasons the story with lots of drama. I always look forward to reading her books, because I know that she's going to bring the heat! I'd recommend this book to everyone!
