In this fast-paced novella, Josh Peel escapes a vicious car wreck only to go back and rescue a woman and her child in a selfless act of heroism. But his achievement is overshadowed by his own secret misgivings about the crash and his part in it. He struggles to keep his secret hidden as his wife hires a man to kill him, a ruthless insurance company puts him in their crosshairs and the one man who knows the truth tries to extort him. Against all these odds he finds himself hopelessly in love with the woman he saves and is willing to risk it all for a second chance to be happy.
I love a good story. It has to capture my attention and give me a reason to hold on.
Good stories are hard to tell. If I'm not excited by what I'm writing then why would anyone be excited to read it?
The short novel is a space where Netflix meets the traditional novel. The rules are different but the goal is the same: a great story! That's where I write, I hope you enjoy them.
This book was interesting, entertaining, and, as promised, fast-paced and exciting.
As well as that, it was short, and I was able to fly through it in about forty minutes. I didn't get attached to any of the characters but I liked them when I was supposed to and was a little freaked out by them when I was supposed to. At the beginning it seems a little choppy, but you get used to the writing style soon enough and then it stops distracting you from the story.
The story is good, and interesting, but I couldn't help but think it was all a little rushed. There was so much going on and, while that made it so that you never got rushed, it was a little overwhelming at times. There were also a few typos in there, but they don't really detract from the story.
Overall, it was a great, enjoyable read and I quite liked it.
I'm a great fan of the well-defined story and this is one of them. It was contained and pacy with lots of little plot twists that kept my interest and added a nice element of suspense as to how they'd play out.
