Pamela Paden Tippet, granddaughter of the infamous Kissing Bandit, Edna Murray, of the gangster era, writes a captivating biography of her grandmother's adventures and exploits with the Barker-Karpis Gang and others during the early 1930's including her various prison escapes, thereby, giving her the nickname "Rabbit." This book is wonderfully written and keeps your attention; Pam Paden Tippet is a talented author to watch. I'm sure Edna would be proud!!!
Loved this book! If you’re at all interested in prohibition/depression-era outlaws, this is an amazing, factual read. I appreciated the thoroughness and I even liked that the author gave her own opinions, since the subject of the book is her own grandmother. It was so interesting to hear what she thought of her family from a modern age reflection. It’s a huge book but it doesn’t feel like it because its written so well. Plus, the last 100 pages is made up of the index. I highly recommend this one!
If you are a 1930's gangster era fan or even if you are not, this book is a wonderful rendition of the exploits and adventures of Edna Murray, a.k.a., the infamous kissing bandit, who ran with the Barker-Karpis gang, John Dillinger and many others. Written by her granddaughter, Pam Paden Tipett, it captures the "true" Edna Murray as perceived through her granddaughter's eyes and is a wonderfully interesting read. I'm sure Edna is very proud of her granddaughter, who is a very talented writer.
