Riley Harrison has been struggling while trying to adjust to her new life in Wyoming. She has Alex's love, two beautiful children, and lives close to her best friend Addison again.
But, when Riley visits her hometown in Maine, she's brought face-to-face with Dane, her son's father. She begins to question if what she has with Alex is what she really wants...
Or, if she dares to delve into her past once more. Can Riley handle the consequences of her actions?
How far will one woman go to keep the people she loves the most, safe?
This is the third book that I've read by Ashley Christine and every time I read her books I am drawn so deeply into the story and love or love to hate the characters. The synopsis for this book is only a glimpse into the lives of these characters over a span of a year. This is the second book of the Meadowlarks series and the story of Alex and Riley. At first based on the blurb I thought that this would be about a love triangle where Riley has to choose between Alex and Dane (two incredibly hot men) but the author goes even further and that's one of the reasons why I love this author's books! Riley goes through the emotions of how she thought her life would be before 30 and faces the reality of temptation and heartache in many forms. I loved Alex - hot and incredibly loving to Riley , always knowing he wanted to be with her. I wanted to scream at Dane but towards the end realized he had a soul underneath his arrogance especially for his son. As for her boss - I think maybe in the next book he will be an OK guy. We will see :)
