This is it. This is the sailing book I have been looking for. It assumes I know nothing about boats. It is well written. It gives excellent information about looking for boats, preparing a budget, surveying boats, and purchasing boats. But wait, there is more! It then goes into how to care and maintain for the boat. Also included: information about pulling away from the dock, and returning to the dock.

This was a good introduction to all the complexities of owning a sailboat and finding one to buy. It was fun to learn about a wide variety of boats and the pros and cons thereof. Unfortunately, it opened my eyes to the wide range of complexities associated with owning a boat, which somewhat dissuaded me from pursuing it personally for the time being.
