The Old Herb Doctor

Rate this book
The many recipes in this book were contributed by customers of the Meyer family herbal business who used herbs to treat a variety of conditions. We are not only told which herbs to use, but are given the contributors' own experience in preparing herbs and treating conditions "naturally."

I found this book in a yard sale the original hardback copyright 1941. It is full of herbal teas, infusions, treatments, the amounts and types. Poultices, teas, and many other helpful herbs that have been proved to heal and help in ailments of all sorts. Example it is a fact black-berrys help with stomach upsets and diarreha and dysentary. We have used it and felt well quickly. Oregon grape and Willow are good for fever and chills. I use this book frequently for many things and often it has helped when the doctors of modern day 21st century have failed. I gather my own herbs, clean, and cure and dry them and trust them over modern medicine prescription poisons that give other side affect needing yet another poison. I have stopped seeing doctors other than naturopaths when or if needed. I have been better of and richer for it. There are times one needs a doctor but often they just mask the illness with things and create more problems. The medicine field is about greed and money not about cures and making people well or keeping them that way. They use ads to convince people to buy prescriptions little tested and use the American public as guina pigs and frequently do an OOPS we didn't know it caused heart attach or cancer or some other illness incurable kidney failure or liver disease.
