If Only We is an incredibly sweet, creative debut NA novel (although YAs would like it too) that had me tearing up a few times. If Only We is the story of Adrienne’s summer after graduating high school—but it’s actually her second chance at that summer, since at the end of August, she finds herself inexplicably tossed back in time to graduation day, and given a chance to relive the summer and hopefully fix her mistakes. I love these second chance-type stories, and I thought the author did an inc ...more

A story about second chances… what ifs and if only.

Truthfully speaking, I hesitated asking for this book because I am not sure what to expect of this fantasy-romance young adult genre. I feel like this book was written in a movie-like script or imagination. I have read similar plots about rewinding your life to relive it but this one hits me like boulder.

Plot in book:
At the end of the summer after graduation, Adrienne wonders
What if one of the most emotionally devastating moments of your life could be re-lived? Could you change the outcome? Would it change your history, your relationships, the people around you? Adrienne would give anything to undo the one moment in time she thinks could change the disaster her life has become. Graduation Day was supposed to be the day she bared her heart to one of her best friends, and in her mind he would admit he was madly in love with her, too, but it didn’t work out that way. S ...more

If Only We is my debut novel. It started off as a little scene idea, then became my NaNoWriMo project in November 2011. It took me TWO YEARS to finish, but I have to say, I am very happy with what it became. I love my story and every single character, through and through. I laughed and cried during the whole process. It was just an amazing experience. My hope is that everyone who reads it walks away with something, a new perspective, anything. Thank you everyone who has been part of this journey ...more

I should probably put in a little disclaimer here: Jessica Sankiewicz is one of my best friends. We met through book blogging a little over two years ago, and our friendship has gone far beyond just our mutual love of bookish things. Even though we’ve never actually met in person, I know I can count on her for anything. I’d heard her talk a lot about her writing project If

How have I not reviewed IF ONLY WE before? I was a beta reader for Jess, so even though I read an early version, the heart of IF ONLY WE is a touching, inspiring story about second chances. About learning to stand up for what you want. About becoming a better friend and person. I loved Jessica's characters, and the sweet, slow-burn romance!

In a sentence: IF ONLY WE is a wonderful coming-of-age story that will melt your heart and make you think.

---I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.---

There is some books you enjoy reading, but you forget them as soon as they are finished... If only we isn't this kind of book. I've finished it almost one week ago and needed to think about it before writing my review.

I've absolutly loved this book without reservation. This is not a simple romance. This is not a young adult book either. It's a wonderful reflexion on second chances, on working to make things better, and never

"It's like exposing film to the light. All of the pictures are ruined instantly. Drained of all color, just like my face in that moment. I had just given him my heart. Bared my heart open. Wide open. Let him in. Allowed him to stomp down, shatter, crush and tear to pieces the last of the love I had to spare in me."

It's never easy to admit to your best friend that you have more than friendly feelings for them. That's exactly what Adrienne does

If Only We is a beautiful story. It really is a heartwarming and feel good read. Adrienne gets a summer do-over. We don't know how exactly, but she travels back in time and gets to re do the last 3 months of her life. And there are plenty of things that she would like to change. If Only We is the story of her second chance to get it all right. I loved the overall story of If Only We. I think this is a great debut book for Jessica Sankiewicz.

The book starts at the end of Adrienne's summer and sh

I don't often venture into the realm of contemporary novels but when I do the experience usually makes me wonder why I don't read them more often. If Only We was no exception to this. It is a story about second chances, taking risks and at the same time staying true to yourself.
Adrienne was a likeable narrator whose reactions were never over the top or too dramatic as seems to be the norm in NA novels. Also missing is the trauma and angst that this new genre has been built on and I for one am

This is a very nice debut novel. More on the YA genre but it was really good. I didn’t not expect that this has a second chance theme to it, and I dig those kind of stories so I totally enjoyed this one.

I like that Jessica wrote this book with such simplicity and genuineness to it. It was a second chance kind of story but it’s not just about romance but more about the main characters discovery to what she really wants to do with her life. At first, it will give you

I requested this eBook ARC from the author because it sounded really interesting. She's not paying me for this review or anything like that. ;) Okay, let me just say this first-I really enjoyed the story overall. I think it was an excellent first book and I'm totally jealous because I've already given up on NaNoWriMo lol.

Adrienne is at odds with her family and closest friends and she's pretty sure it all goes back to her actions on the day of her high school graduation. When she gets a

If Only We teaches us a lesson to when given a second chance we must to our best to choose a better outcome/ right path. It also teaches us that pride will be our downfall (although a lot of stories have this concept).

After Adrienne confessed to her best friend Chevy, she runaway after she thought he "rejected" her. After near the end of summer, she finally returned home and realized that she damaged her relationship with her family and Chevy. Realizing her mistake, she dreamed of having

This cute book sucked me in right from the beginning. I enjoyed it from the beginning to the end :).

Adrienne gets a second chance to live her summer before college over. The first time didn't go so well, and one day she wakes up in her bed at her mothers house living graduation night all over again.

She realizes that she has a chance to make different choices and hope that it changes everything that went wrong for the better. There are so many up and do

I really loved the story, it's great idea playing with what if's...

Adrienne had the chance to 'go back' in time because he felt her life just sucks, the waves crashed over her head... and she felt lost.

Lost the connection with her mother and her sister, and more importantly her secret loved one Chevy. So she has the chance to start over...

It is a well written story, but sometimes takes in a slow motion, and I lost connection, I
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book! This is a feel good story about second chances, an answer to the age old question of what if? Everyone has asked themselves this at one point in their life. A fresh look at the past to evolve into the person you were meant to be in the future.

I liked that Adrienne wasn't perfect, that she was undecided. Even though she was directionally impaired when it came to some life choices, she still strived to make a diff

I absolutely love being taken my surprise by how much I love a book and author's writing style and let's face it, that doesn't always happen with indie writers. In fact, more often than not buying one and reading it is a huge gamble. Nine out of ten times you aren't going to love it let alone like it. So when I do find one that I truly enjoyed and would definitely buy something from the author again in the future, well I have to let you know about it.

This is one such story. It was just good. Wel

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I really liked this book! In fact it think it ended all too soon! I really connected with Adrienne, she was given the opportunity to re-do her summer and make it better!

Adrienne struggles like anyone her age with "what do I want to do with my life?" and "should I tell him how I really feel?". When she gets to relive her summer, she automatically starts to change the way she did things from the first time around. Adrienne decides t

I went into this one not actually having read the description. I was pleasantly surprised by the turn of events in it. I liked the idea of Adrienne getting a second chance. I know there's plenty of times in my life I could have used a do over. I liked that she immediately decided to try things differently. I probably would have just made the same stupid mistakes again. I liked the writing and editing. For a self published book, it was well done. I did think some of the phrasing was a little off ...more

This book was a very good read! I couldn’t put it down. I literally started reading one chapter before bed one night, and then finished it in two hours the next morning! The characters, Adrienne and Chevy just really kept me routing for them. This book had kind of a “Butterfly Effect” mood to it, where Adrienne was trying to rewrite history, but realized that some things were inevitable and had to happen, even if the circumstances were different. I related a lot to the situation between her and ...more

I love a story that builds off of the "if" factor. In If Only We, the author shares a story where the MC gets her "if" moment - if only she could go back in time - and she does.

I found the characters to be likable - most were well developed. The story flowed at a nice pace and I enjoyed the author's writing style.
I liked the relationship development between Adrienne and Chevy - it felt real.

In many ways, this novel was like a breath of fresh air - we find two people who learn that love is base

Ahhh! This book is adorable and great! It felt real, and it has such a GOOD message too! I loved the whole idea about it from the very beginning, and it was very well thought out. It's a sweet, fun, and quick read. I enjoyed reading the whole thing and absolutely LOVED the end! <3 I'm glad I didn't read what this book was about before I read it (which I almost always say) so I don't want to say too much else in case you're like me and don't read the synopsis before you read books. I received this book for an honest review. I really liked it but I was expecting a little more. It was fantasy with reality mixed in. I have been in this funk where I am just eating books up and the ones are usually paranormal but this was a good change. It made me wonder if you mess up so badly in life if you really get a second chance. Adrienne gets a chance to make everything in her life better but thought she messed up again. The whole story is well written with the dates and the experiences ...more

Beautifully written and inspiring, If Only We, is a wonderfully engaging read filled with emotion and heart. It is wibbly wobbly, written in the best form, readers will fall in love with the characters, laugh, cry, and fall in love with love. Most of all, they will be inspired by this captivating tale of second chances, hope, friendship, and self-discovery.
