Cheeky format. I thought it had some good information but I was specifically looking for fleas and it didn't have any information on that. Also the recipe section was kind of weird.
Noticed this book at the library the other day and thought it was worth a look, having just moved into a new apartment building. Rock n' Roll Exterminator is a short, quick read dispensing tongue in cheek advice on good, cheap, not extremely toxic methods to deal with common household pests, including the likes of mice, rats, cockroaches, bedbugs, and other gross little friends. In my time living in apartments, I've dealt with nothing worse than fruit flies and few roaches, and the tips presented here are, for the most part, good. Instructions on keeping your place clean, DIY trapping and poisoning strategies, and other ways to make sure your living space is invader free offer useful information. On the other hand, sometimes there is little you can do but rely on professionals to have a chance of getting out of an infestation with your sanity intact; "if you have bedbugs, you are screwed," begins the chapter on those horrors, which (aside from a trip to Europe), I have not had to deal with, knock on wood. If you have rats, "God help you." Shudder. The humor is a bit hit and miss (in particular the needless jokey "recipe" section) and the anecdotes of people on the internet who dealt with problem infestations, while sometimes funny, are not really helpful. Still, pertinent information for many people who find themselves with an infestation on a budget.
Yucky but probably effective. And funny. Includes centipedes, cockroaches, ants, and more. But those I have listed are my biggest concern. I already have Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap and cinnamon so I will try those before anything messier or requiring more effort. Apparently, centipedes can only be taken out by smashing.
