This is a beautifully illustrated, coffee-table cookbook. With an assortment of recipes from South America, it also includes a brief culinary history of each region and descriptions of the food stuffs that are unusual in Canada, for example: passion fruit, prickly pear and guavas--what the food looks like, and how to select, store and prepare it. There are some doable recipes-meaning–not too complicated, with ingredients that I may find locally.
