About the author

Jahric Lago is a writer, published author, manuscript editor, graphic designer, book layout designer, and a proud Mariah Carey fan. He currently serves as the Private Secretary to the President of the Philippine Normal University. He has written and published more than 20 books with PSICOM Publishing Inc. (publisher of Diary ng Pangit and Talk Back and You’re Dead), TBC Publications, and his classic retelling will soon be published by 8Letters Publishing. His first works, the humor memoir-style titles Anong Klaseng Estudyante Ka?, Anong Klaseng Empleyado Ka?, and Buti Pa Ang Leron Leron May Sinta, remain among his most recognized early works.

His other works include Dreamland (co-written with Cheska Mateo), 20 Nights in Heaven, Giovanni Bactol Jr., and his two dark fantasy collections, Nightjar and Metamorphosis, as well as his children’s book Kakatok-Katok si Bitok. He also co-authored Endless Love, a love poetry collection written with his partner JM Bolo, launched at the Manila International Book Fair 2025.

He is the founder and owner of TBC Publications, an independent publishing organization that supports a community of Filipino authors, editors, designers, and independent publishers. He is the creator and editor of the anthology series Jahric Lago Presents, TBC Novelette Series, and TBC Halo-Halo Atbp. Previously, he served as Editor-in-Chief of Valley Voice under the PLMar Center for Public Affairs, Information, and Publications Services (PLMar-CPAIPS). He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management and was awarded Journalist of the Year at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina.

He lives in Manila, writing his next masterpiece while listening to the great music of Mariah Carey.

|| Book Review / Very Short But Honest Feedback ||

Pa'no ko ba sisimulan ang simpleng book review na ito? Sige huwag na lang book review, honest feedback na lang tungkol sa aklat na “Anong Klaseng Estudyante Ka?” na isinulat ni Jahric Lago. (Ehem ehem clear throat muna tayo. Ayusin mo, boi. Nakasalalay dito ang kinabukasan mo. Charaught!)

Note (Dami pang ek ek, ayaw pa diretsuhin): Hindi po ako magaling magbigay ng review o feedback. Maaaring subjective ito dahil nakabase ito sa aking sariling opinyon at pananaw.

Anong klaseng estudyante ka? Ikaw ? Nasubukan mo na bang tanungin ang sarili mo kung anong klaseng estudyante ka? Well, kung hindi pa, try mong basahin ang aklat ni Jahric Lago na "Anong Klaseng Estudyante Ka?” at mapapaano ka nga ba (Seryoso. Book review ba ito o promotion? Hindi ako magaling pa man din sa salestalk 😁). Alam ko namang tayo ay estudyante o 'di kaya ay dumaan sa pagiging estudyante kaya why not try reading this one.

Ang librong AKEK ay tumatalakay sa paglalakbay ng isang estudyante mula kinder hanggang kolehiyo at inilahad nito ang iba't ibang uri ng estudyanteng nakakasalamuha sa araw-araw na pagpasok sa ekwela (Wait hindi pala perfect attendance ang bida natin sa kuwento kaya remove 'yong araw-araw na part. Joke haha!). Isa itong personal memoir base sa point of view ng isang estudyante (Paulit-ulit lang boi. Ano ka, si Mang Romeo? Partner ni Aling Juliet?). Kaya naman ang dyanra nito ay non-fiction. Oo non-fiction po. Hango sa totoong buhay. Existing! Hindi tulad sa crush mong sa imagination mo lang nagkaroon ng kayo (Aray! Ang harsh. Sorna agad. Don't bash me please.)

So heto na nga. Actually, ang sayang basahin ang akdang ito. Sobrang enjoy, entertaining at inspiring. Bakit? Una, very relatable ang mga experience ng bida. Pangalawa, nakakatawa ang mga banat. Ang taas ng sense of humor. Pangatlo, kakaiba ang writing style. Malikhain at nasa lugar ang paraan ng pagpapatawa (Paano nga ba i-lugar ang pagpapatawa? Chour!). Pang-apat, ang daming WOW (Short for Words of Wisdom). Napaka-witty ng pagkakasulat at mapapa-WOW ka naman talaga. Panglima, punong-puno ng motibasyon para magpatuloy sa pag-aaral. Marami ka talagang matatantong mga bagay-bagay habang binabasa ang aklat na ito. Maraming aral kang mapupulot. Heto pa pala, hihirit pa ako. There's more, pang-anim, nailahad sa loob ng aklat ang mga positive at negative side ng pagiging estudyante. Super worth it to read. Kayang-kaya mo itong tapusing basahin ng isa hanggang dalawang araw lamang.

Madami pa akong gustong sabihin pero baka sa sobrang daldal ko ay maikwento ko na ang buong libro, kaya behave na ako. Hanggang dito na lang ang aking honest feedback na very very short hahaha. Kung gusto niyo ring maranasan ko habang binabasa ang aklat na "Anong Klaseng Estudyante Ka?”, why not treat yourself a book and have a break from stressful modules and workloads naman, 'di ba? (Tamang promote lang.)

Simpleng pagbabahagi ng buhay estudyante ng manunulat. Nakakatuwa, ang kalat. Nakakapagpabalik alaala ng buhay sa eskwela. Maraming mapupulot na termino, at kalokohan, at aral na rin. Nakakaloka ang mga pa-name drop, kung ako 'yung kaibigan. Lantaran ang pagharot. Dami kong tawa, mga trenta. Sa paraan ng pagsasalaysay, para ka na ring parte ng barkada ng may akda. Nakakaaliw din ang mga pasilip sa slumbook. Nakaka-inspire din. Susulsulan kang mainggit. Ano pa ba? basta, nakakatuwang basahin. Hahaha. Ulit ulit? Aling Juliet?

"Anong Klaseng Estudyante Ka?" by Jahric Lago is a fun book that introduces us to different types of students you might know. From Plastikera, Saksakera, and Tsismosa to Librarinator and Maria Clara, the characters are like classmates you'll never forget. They're not superheroes, but they're memorable because some of them might even remind you of people you've met in school. It's a light-hearted read that brings back memories of the funny moments and characters we encounter during our student days.
