He was her Master... She was his slave...

“Come to my study at eight o’clock sharp. Dress for dinner. Wear high heels and put on that dress – you know what I expect of you.”

When the order comes Livia is torn between anticipation and dread.

Does he know? How could he possibly know what she has done? And how can she find the words and the courage to tell him?

As eight o’clock edges ever nearer, Livia waits outside the study door, trembling; uncertain of what she will find when she comes face to face with her Master.

If he knows… If he does, there will be consequences. There is no doubt about that.

What will be the price for her moment of disobedience?

Warning: This book is adults only. It contains adult language, caning, face slapping and gags and is a depiction of a Master/slave relationship.

I liked it, not loved it...I liked it. A very short novel about a Dom and his submissive. Interesting read that contained only the two characters. The story did not give the characters names or descriptions. Meaning, you had zero descriptions other than them being male and female. Each scene is first told by the Dom (male) from his perspective and then repeated by the Sub(female) perspective. You really got a glimpse into what each person was thinking and their feelings. Some of the scenes...totally hard core! Yes, for those in doubt, to be a submissive, you have to be a REALLY strong person.

Why Not 5 Stars?
The repeating scenes did not hold my attention. I found that I was skimming some of the dialogue because I had just read it verbatim a few pages ago.

Too short to understand and relate to the characters.

I was completely intrigued by the idea of this book. It was the two writers, two POVs - the Dominant male and the submissive female. This one had the added quality of the D being a sadist. That word gives me chills, calls to me and at the same time scares me. In that sense, The Journal absolutely allowed me access into the mind of the sadistic D - as told truly from his POV, written in his own words.

The slave - that word also makes me pause. It's extreme and once again, draws me and frightens me at the same time. Those are the best sort of emotions. The slave's POV following the D's POV were not just a rewrite of a scene but a true retelling from a whole other set of emotions. These emotions were more accessible to me - or maybe the way to say it is they were more easily processed by me as I could relate to the thoughts, the feelings.

The love between the two characters was evident and deep. It was written beautifully - beautifully. It's not a light read - at all - so be prepared. My only criticism is that it was too short. I agree with the other reviewer, in the next one, I want more.

Loved it but way to short! Will definitely be reading more by these 2 authors.

The duplicate POV is probably what put me off. It just felt like reading the same thing several times. If it had been alternating scenes with each of the characters it would've been okay but the same scenes were covered with both points of view and that wasn't something I enjoyed

A QUICK SHORT READ BUT WAS IT PACTS A PUNCH. THIS IS THE EXTREMIST OF PUNISHMENTS I HAVE READ IN A SUB/DOM RELATIONSHIP, BUT IT WAS GREAT TO HAVE BOTH POV SHOWING WHAT EACH OF THE PERSON FELT. A GOOD READ.
