Helps men develop closer relationships with their children by developing the skills to listen to a child's problems and ideas, discussing difficult issues, and reevaluating parental goals
I've just started rereading this book because it was so good. One concept that really hits home is that of active listening, not just listening to identify the problem, waiting so that I can present a solution. That's usually a typical Way that most men treat conversations. Weather there with children, or women. We want to identify problem, and then give the solution, then move on :-)
There were many other concepts that I need to review, but I think this one was really important. Listening to their words, parroting them back, to make sure that you understand what they are telling you the problem is. So important.
