Presents the results of an investigation to quantify the operating characteristics of vapor sensor technologies used at underground storage tank sites. During this study, the catalytic bead sensor was selected & tested for responses when exposed to various mixtures of methane, butane & xylene, as well as to determine the effects of humidity on their responses. The test results are presented as a list of sensor specifications to allow for direct comparison to metal oxide semiconductor gas sensors & polymer adsorption gas sensors, & to quantify the stability of sensor performance.
