Either you go to Art School and gain near automatic acceptance into the hall of Art or you explore art making on your own and run the gamble of whether or not your art will be exhalted in the halls of Art based rather perversely on whether it looks rudimentary and divinely inspired. If your self taught art looks influenced by academic standards there's a good chance it will be ignored. also perverse is appropriation of the aesthetics of self taught artists by mainstream academic Artists to further their own careers and the Art plot line instead of integrating these self taught artists into the Canon themselves.
