The book has a beginning, middle and end. I got so lost in the story that I had to stop and remind myself this was not one of my normal "cops and robbers" fantasy reads. This was real life. This was her life!

While I was a fan of Kathryn's first book, this one went past all expectations for me. The first book was a difficult read because of the subject matter. No one wants to talk about the pervs out there, let alone have it pointed out that it is society's fault. However, facts are facts.
This second book is written like her wonderful blog. It's the stories in the field. The work. The day to day events. I read Kathryn's blog from the very beginning. These are the stories she never told. These are details we were not privy to.

When the rookie Wheels, was first introduced to us on her blog, I fell madly in love with him. An ex-marine, husband, father and all around good guy. This book gives us even more insights into the training and maturing of Wheels. Not only as an officer, but as a human being.
Kathryn's amazing style of story telling had me laughing through most of the book. It's like you were standing there watching the nose hair right along with her and Wheels.
The book takes you into a world most of us will never see. A world where the good guys don't always win, but where they always have each others back.
Job well done Kathryn. I seldom reread a book. Once I've read it, it's gone. I will be thumbing through this one more than once. Thank you for letting us have a look into the world that was your life!
I am a huge fan of Marie Force's fatal series. I put the book I was reading on the back burner while I read this. In my opinion, it rates right up there. I love action, and she gave us plenty of action and even more laughs.

I love me some Boogie Man! This book is the next best thing to being on a ride-along with her. While her first book dealt with the very serious issue of child molesters, this one is fun, just stories from her time as an FTO.
And she mentioned me by name. Twice. That makes me almost famous, right?

Gritty and realistic. A look in the life of a cops world, told in their language. A captivating and thought provoking read. I want to thank the author and publisher for this book I won in the Goodreads First Reads contest.

A collection of stories from an officer on the job, the content was interesting but the presentation could have used quite a bit of spit and polish. I found the reading to be slow-going because of the lack of organization in how the stories were presented. I also thought there was little in the way of transition, which would have helped the overall flow. I respect the author's work in the field, and appreciate that Loving took the time to share these stories with us, but would have enjoyed it more with a (or another) round of editing.
